Malone is in touch on a near daily basis with his 37-year old twins, Cheryl and Daryl Ford, plus his son Demetress “Mechie” Bell, 34, especially after the birth of his seven grandchildren.

Bell said he's constantly laughing, talking and texting with Malone "everyday about something." His kids identify Malone's home as "The Big House."

They hunt together and share many of the same interests. In fact, Bell was among the 100 or so invited family, friends and guests at the Legends grand opening, where they interacted like lifelong pals over drinks, cigars and smooth grooves during the all-white-attire affair.

Although things weren't always that way, Bell can certainly pinpoint the switch with his old man.

“He came to the house, we sat down and talked about everything and how it was and put it behind us and we’ve been on an up-and-up ever since," Bell recalled. "The first thing we did was went on a hunting trip to Utah. That was the first thing we did as a father-son around 2014."

Bell, who previously played for the Buffalo Bills, now runs a trucking company.

Glad to hear Karl Malone finally stepped up to the plate after not wanting anything to do with his son for the first 30 years of his life. What a great guy he is.

He didn't acknowledge the twin girls until they signed with La Tech to play Basketball and it made the headlines.

How Karl Malone has avoided a universally accepted “piece of shite” label is beyond me.

People can be pieces of shite if they can run fast, throw a ball hard or jump high

LT slipped through the cracks too. Everyone knows what a pos he is but I swear every time someone on TV stalks about him they put a ton of respek on his name.

I also don’t think quiiiiite as many folks in the media would go to bat for MJ being this untouchable god if he played during the height of social media.

Most people would perceive these guys differently if they played today.

He's the Kirby Puckett of NBA. Media sockled Kirbys nuts, and Kirby was a super POS.

Kind of the same for Big Ben. He’s still playing despite a lot of people thinking he sexually assaulted someone. That being said, if that happened today he might not be in the NFL.

I feel like a LOT of stars of yesteryear who enjoy sterling reputations today would be looked at quite differently had their fame coincided with the rise of social media.

I bet Babe Ruth's Twitter account would have been money...

KD wouldn't be seen as such a bitch if social media didn't exist.

Now. Definitely not back when he was acting crazy. The only blowback Malone ever got was for the little Mexican girls line at Kobe's wife.

Nothing against Karl but how do you come to that from that story. He ignored his son for 30 years
