I’m not going to defend everything they did, but this is factually wrong. They 100% freed slaves. The Sacking of Osceola freed over 200 slaves, and there were smaller operations that also had success.

I have to admit I am a little shocked and awed by KU pushing the Civil War theme. Especially in this day and time. I like it.

It’s a rivalry between two historically mid tier teams. Was kind of fun a few times for basketball. And a fake one in modern sports considering the conference shifts. Reminds me of Nebraska and Colorado. Hatred from a bygone era.

I will say though, one of the coolest sporting moments I’ve ever witnessed in person is T Rob blocking Presseys shot in Allen Field House to go to overtime and keep the Big 12 streak alive.

That 2007 game #2 vs #3 game had some hype to it at the time
