You guys comparing this to Bob Knight are wrong. He choked player Neil Reid and was put on probation. He was later fired for grabbing a freshman IU student on the arm because the kid said,"What's up, Knight".
He had a long history of getting away with things. Throwing the chair and at the 1980 Pan Am games he got pissed at a Peurto Rican police officer, picked him up and stuffed him in a trash can.

I don’t want him canceled. I’m just shocked that Michigan is keeping a coach that has documented anger issues and just assaulted someone on national tv. The guy didn’t even apologize for his behavior. It’s inappropriate to let him return without at least making him address his anger issues.

Problem is that Howard is not a good coach. Competing coaches don't want him fired and Michigan go out and hire a decent coach to replace him.
