Oh.

Well it seems to be the focus of the thread, so forgive me.

I think he’s pretty good and was a natural replacement for Fowler. What does he do that you don’t like? And who else would you rather host the show?

I don’t know how anyone could prefer Reece to Chris Fowler. As you said Reece makes snarky comments that is in poor form for the host of gameday.
Fowler was the consummate even handed professional.

Reece is better suited to the in studio B team that he used to be on

Its not. Rece was trying to make a joke about NCAA eligibility and OP got his panties in a wad over it

I must miss most of them.

Do you have any examples?

You are gonna say its because of my LSU homerism (which is the reason it sticks in my mind) but he makes these about many schools. The one that sticks in my mind is yelling "strong offer" during highlights of MULTIPLE LSU ncaa tournament games.

Once ok haha funny but he did it over and over and over. No need for that when no player was ruled ineligible (even with the NCAA having a sitdown with the questionable player) and the coach being suspended which was far more than any other school involved did. Just call the highlights let the kids have their moment and leave that kind of analysis for later.

He’s a gump. His take on the D white suspension tells you all you need to know about that POS

I chuckled the first time (I think it was after a highlight of a Naz Reid 3) and was like ok we deserve that take your shot and be done but then after multiple it was ok prick time to lay off and just report.

Yeah that’s annoying.

I’ve definitely seen him be snarky before. He does this thing where he looks down and shuffles his notes and delivers a one liner.

But it hasn’t ever seemed overbearing to me.

Herbie shut him up on the D White discussion. I think they were on the weekly playoff discussion show and Rece was saying it was the letter of the law that got D White suspended and it was the correct call. Herbie waded in and systematically shut down Rece's argument. Rece immediately changed the subject and went to commercial.

I know, being a LSU Homer puts it in a P&G light for me, but Herbie, to me, has always been as impartial as one can be in commentary and game calling. He just seems very professional and takes his job seriously. Rece, on the other hand, baits and provokes controversy needlessly.
