I don't think anyone, or at least anyone who watched Tua closely would recognize that he is a read option QB. Most honest Bama folks would tell you that. He's an accurate passer for sure, but he always had trouble with post snap reads, that was clearly exposed in the title game in '19. It's not new news, reality is that the criticisms got lost in the hype. I like the guy and wish him well, but he's got some work ahead of him to catch up.
Big Ben is truly one of the examples of talent with just enough intelligence to make it work. I'm a Steeler fan and can tell you all about Bens limitations.
You are way off with Montana and must not have been old enough to remember when he was playing. He was the GOAT before Brady and his IQ and football intelligence were exactly why. Hell, they called him "Joe Cool", because he was so good under pressure and could make the right read and decision almost all the time. Montana and Brady are straight out of the same mold.

I'm old enough to remember his Cotton Bowl victory over Houston.
Great QB,great FB IQ and high emotional

Put Mac Jones behind our offensive line and his stats wouldn’t be nearly as good as they were. Just compare the pass blocking Lawrence got vs the pass blocking Jones got against OSU. Bama’s line makes ours look like a division II school.

Even as a Bama fan I have some concerns. But it is saying something that the Panthers reportedly loved him at #8, the Niners potentially taking him at #3, and that nobody has him making it past #15 to the Patriots.

We were like the 5th most talented team you played in the regular season in 2019 and we were absolute trash. The ACC is trash dookie.

Bama did a great job pass blocking in the game but two factors played in. Bama had a quick passing game plan that worked and OSU was without 2 of its top 6 DL. Add in the fact that OSU couldn't stop anyone throwing the ball last season and Bama having a heisman WR it was bad news if OSU couldn’t get into a track meet on their end. i mean this entire website says "X and Y will suck" and then when of course one of the 3 guys they say sucks in the NFL they are like "I told you guys he would suck". 80% of NFL QBs play BELOW where they are drafted I would say. Multiple people on this website have said Lawrence, Fields, Jones etc. etc. etc. will suck; of the 5 QBs who are going to be drafted in the top 10 3+ will likely not live up to that draft position
