Not sure what's worse - watching someone slowly die of long-term illness or having someone just go in the blink of an eye. Either way sucks for those of us left behind.
Prayers sent for his family and friends.

Hadn't even thought about that as a possibility. For some reason that would make it extra sad, not even sure why. In suicides they do often use vague language on purpose... but yeah I hope not.
Hope it's not suicide. Either way, just goes to show that you never know what someone's going through. Everyone has their personal battles.

Have they not released cause? He was 60 and appeared in good health. He was just doing his shows this past Sunday...something isn't right....

As ESPN has sort of become a clown show lately, he was one of very few left, if anybody else at all, who conducted himself with class and professionalism.
Sad news.

That sucks. He did the highlights with the old school College football of Abc music. Classic

If you click on yahoo story about it, they use an AP photo. He is at a function of some kind and looks ill. Totally pulled out of my arse observation, but he has that yellowish tint and some to his eyes too. Not as bad as Walter Payton but he looks like a liver patient?

So suicide would make sense
When I turned on SC earlier and heard Storm talking I didn't hear a name so I assumed she was talking about Chris Mortenson

Dude had to work with Mike Lupica every week. Suicide is always on the table in that scenario

He probably was most responsible in the media for Woodson winning the Heisman over Manning. I liked him personally, which is not something I can say for many at ESPN.

Who the hell is John Saunders?
Did you watch the Reveal of the Final BCS standings in 2003?
That was a pretty important moment in LSU history.
