Again I never have said he was moral in his decision, but he was legally covered.
Its clear as day that nobody you're arguing with gives a shite about the legality of this. Why in the absolute frick do you keep talking about it?

I agree, people treat Sandusky like a schizophrenic 9 year old who was out of his mind. He raped kids because he liked it, he was completely lucid and sane and knew it was evil.

You'd think dying after dishonor would be as far as you could fall. JoePa keeps falling.

I cannot wrap my head around this. How good of a DC was this fricker?

I will say I think people need to regain perspective. Yes what JoePa did was bad, but it's almost like we've forgotten than Sandusky was the one routinely actually sticking his dick in ten year olds. It seems he's an afterthought at this point.

I don't think this is true. Just reading the name gives me chills, as I'm sure it does for others. Not a single person in this thread would defend that piece of shite. His reputation is ruined and everybody hates him and wouldn't mind him dying.

There are people in this thread defending Paterno. That's horrible, and why it's still a topic.

I mean, he was one of the best ever. In 23 years as a DC he had a national top-10 defense 18 times, including the number one defense five times.

Because there are people who think he actually raped the kids or actively participated in herding them up.

But the people who criticize Paterno mostly believe what he did was unlawful and don't really know the case or laws involved.

What are you talking about? I have never seen anyone mention the law regarding Paterno. People hate him because he broke every human and moral code possible. You are the only one obsessed with mentioning he never broke the law

We know man. We just don't care or think it makes it any better

Can you show me the folks who think this?

Is anybody doing that here?

It's pretty obvious that you're trying to tiptoe through a defense for the guy.

Wrong you have mentioned it several times because you accused him of covering up a crime

That defense is awful and reeks of his probable involvement of the whole disgusting deal.

Well uhhhh, yeah. Morally, IF ITS EVEN TRUE, then uh, yeah, he's morally a bad person. BUT HE DID WHAT HE WAS SUPPOSED TO DO.

The Penn State message boards are sickening. They think all of this is some made up conspiracy. They have been in denial for 4-5 years now.

If you know a dude is raping kids, and you tell people who you know aren't doing a damn thing about it, you are covering up a crime. Law be damned. Might not be the law's definition, but I'm also not insinuating he broke the law. <-----read that last part.

Rickety Cricket gets it. There was a huge S.I. article, well over 10 pages about how Paterno ran Penn St. with an iron fist. This was about the time that the Nitty Lions were having football player after football player arrested for more & more serious crimes and getting off with a slap of the wrist. The COP in Happy Valley said flat out: "Paterno runs that whole university. He got the president to sign off on a university rule that any criminal investigation of a football player had to run through Paterno's office". He was quoted as saying that " literally, there is nothing going on at that university that Paterno does not know about". He ran off & destroyed the career of a female VP of Student Affairs because she dared to challenge his rule re police investigations being handled through the football office. So, to think that all he did was forward a complaint of this nature to the president & then forgot about it is beyond stupidity. People think Saban runs Alabama? Paterno was doing that at Penn St. decades ago. He knew exactly what he was doing when he covered up Sandusky's crimes.

Because he's a HS football coach and thinks because he's a coach he needs to defend a fellow member of the hallowed fraternity who is coming under fire posthumously. Relishes in the 12 Angry Men role. Paterno is dead, Sandusky is behind bars forever, so no one cares about the technical legal aspect. Let alone something as granular and laughable as building access. Paterno was the king of State College, and he could make anything he wanted happen.
