Yet never a head coach? I wonder how many (if any) big time coaches knew? Or athletic directors? Word had to be out.

I guess Paterno knew it happened and after one season of looking the other way? Felt unable to ever let the cat out of the bag. Reprehensible, but I can see that playing out.

Ill need more evidence than a single line in an insurance claim. It's easy to throw dirt on people who can't speak for the claims made against them. Also why wasn't this released back then or in 2012? I'm calling bs til it's corroborated by multiple sources

It was just uncovered in some old insurance claim. You think it's coincidence some kid claimed Sandusky raped him in the 70s?

Do you even understand the law? You can't make an accusation without proof. He reported it.

No one here is even talking about the law. The law of man dictates that he should have done more, up to the point of whooping Sandusky's arse himself. I take it you aren't a parent.

What about those bowl trips Sandusky got to bring his victims on? Paterno had no ability to stop that? frick that. He sat back and let those kids get raped. By even allowing Sandusky to continue to bring kids around unfettered, you could argue paterno condoned it.

Not of sound mind implies he didn't know right from wrong. Being a pedophile doesn't mean they think it's ok to molest kids, numerous pedophiles have come out saying they fight their urges because they always know it's wrong.

What Sandusky did is no different than a serial rapist or murderer who does it just because they like it.

I think people hate Sandusky, but don't show the same outrage because he acted from compulsion.

Paterno was completely about self preservation, even though he knew it was wrong (we assume that part)

I've been on this train since day 1. Joe Pa HAD to know exactly what was going on and he did exactly what he had to do to keep this from getting out to the public and putting a black eye on Joe Pa's football program.

The head coach of Penn State for 40 years knows everything going on in State College, Pennsylvania.

You can argue his morality but he did what he was supposed to do.

He knew for 35 fricking years. He also knew his chain of command was doing nothing about it.

He basically sat there and said "Welp, I told my bosses, not my problem anymore".

Any person who cared about other living beings, goes to the police first. A child's well being is far more important than money. If I found out my boss was fricking kids, I'd go to the cops first. frick my job. I'd rather be homeless and something have been done about it.

I have absolutely zero doubt that Joe fricked little boys.

Hey, since JoePa's wins were all revoked from 1998-2011, now we can go back and make it from 1976 onwards. It now may be the least winning college football program in America.

Joe Pa was THE boss at Penn State. He had no superiors. He was the HNIC.

Yep. He allowed the rape to happen. That's why it's not far fetched to think he was involved in the raping.
