Wait ... what? Where is the source for this?
Sandusky was the heir apparent to Paterno. In 1998 he was questioned about and admitted to showering with a minor (minor like a 10 year old). The next year the "heir apparent" retired from Penn State but was still granted the keys to the kingdom.
They all knew about it and still let the POS use university facilities for his "foundation". You know what happened in 2002.
They should all burn in hell.

Its been all over the news. the reason Sandusky retired unexpectedly in the first place was the incident of him molesting another kid and the police investigation that went nowhere.
Is that speculation, or did someone come forth and say so. I'm not saying I doubt it (I actually believe that's probably what happened) just wonder if it was confirmed.

it is speculation.
but a fact in Tiger Ryno's mind, along with 2 of his other 4 points that were supposed to be "facts".

He admitted to showering with a minor in 1998. That's a fact.

When your HFC has a statute, walks to work through the school from his modest ranch house just off campus, and the institution and the program are synonymous with his name, they are just as tone-deaf to the realities as the coaches, admins, and law enforcement authorities who knew of this and did nothing about it.
why dont they? This took place in their backyard. Just saying. I keep hearing people say this. One person earlier on TV was talking about their age, like they are middle school students. These are college student; grown men and women who are old enough to think for themselves.

but should be allowed to coach one more game? makes no fricking sense.

Lester he admitted to a victim's mother that he showered with her kid in 1998. he was over heard by a detective admitting it. saying "I was wrong...I would like forgiveness but I know I won't get it from you...I wish I were dead"
shortly after one of the best D coordinators in the nation abruptly retires.
FACT enough for me.

Having said that, it would just confirm my suspicions that Sandusky's behavior was an open secret at PSU.

VA Buckeye why isn't Paterno being drug through the coals like Jim Tressel was? Because Jo Pa is this iconic figure and he's 84 yrs old. frick that lead his arse out in hand cuff as well

FWIW- This Shultz asshat admitted to knowing about the 1998 incident. That, combined with the fact that Shultz had administrative authority over the Campus PD, combined with the fact that the AD called him upon learning of the 2002 incident, looks really, really, really bad.
It also makes it hard to believe that the others didn't know what was going on.

Yeah, the Detective that recorded Sandusky saying those things to the mother was a University Detective. And Joe Pa and the AD didn't know about what was on those recordings, but Sandusky all of a sudden retires the next year? Please, spare me. They all knew, and those that think they didn't are crazy.

Actually, he is. It's just the delusional PSU fans that are trying to protect him.
frick... I used to root for PSU and thought Joe Pa should retire whenever he wanted to.
But after this bullshite, I want that fricker out of there ASAP.
And I really hope they get the death penalty somehow. But of course they won't because of the "prestige" and history.

And that's the turning point of everything. That's what makes the cover up of the 2002 incident so obviously intentional and appalling.

Trevor Matich is bringing the Pain:
*If Joe knew and didn't do enough he is just as responsible for the continued rapes as Sandusky is
*Joe's legacy is trashed. Nobody should mention his 400 wins, champtionships, graduation rates, etc... The scandal is what will define him.

Yep. As new things come out it wouldn't surprise me that 1998 wasn't the first time they were alerted to this. In '98, the guy had already been there over 20 years with his youth program going, I bet someone saw something before 1998.

if a scandal this big doesn't call for the death penalty i don't see what else could

There is no source for this. 1998 was investigated by authorities and the DA dropped the case.

There are 3 Penn State grads where I work 1 of them being a sport psychologist and they all think Joe Pa did NOTHING wrong and it's bullshite that he is gonna retire. WTF is wrong with these people?
