In classic Burrow fashion, he was plotting his next move after watching the Bears defensive backs jump, sit and abscond with the his receivers' routes.

"We'll have to watch the film and reflect on everything. It's tough to say anything right now without watching the film," Burrow said of the secondary being so aggressive. "You've got to throw the ball over their head. At least make them feel like you are going to be able to do that and call some plays that go over their head."

"They have a good pass rush. We tried to get it out quick and they knew we had a good pass rush and were going to get it out quick. They just started sitting on all of our routes," Burrow said.

Chase caught his second long touchdown of the year on a 42-yarder, but he's joining Taylor and Burrow back at the drawing board. He wondered how the Bears DBs were able to sit on the Bengals receivers and they couldn't get anything done deep early.

"We could've been (doing) that bro, honestly," Chase told the reporters. "We waited to the last-minute to take shots. We knew they were sitting the whole game. I was telling Joe. Tee knew. We've got to capitalize on the stuff we see early in the game.”

Good. I need Chase to catch all the long TD passes he can.

Well, were the players correct? Were the bears simply sitting in everything short and the OC never challenged them?

If true, I’m kind of surprised burrow didn’t audible to Higgins and Chase to go deep.

It’s a catch 22. Going deep requires time, which Burrow rarely has. Burrow has been hit a ton this year (9 sacks I believe). The line still can’t protect him.

Joe Brady is going to be the HC of this team next year.

Lol no. He’s not going to waste his first HC opportunity going to a worse organization with a worse QB.

2 years in and Burrow is already throwing his coaches under the bus?

I mean, go back through the nfl game thread from yesterday. It didn’t take Burrow and Chase to see that. We were discussing it in the thread before the 3 picks in a row.

But it’s not as simple as “play calling”.

Part of it is the OL/RB couldnt protect and Burrow is coming off of major injury.

Part of it is the kick returner got them pinned back at their own 7 for the first drive of the game

Part of it is the Bears controlled the ball and field position the entire first half. Bengals ran very few plays.

And part of it was the stupid decision by the head coach to go for it on 4th and 2 in the first half instead of punting Chicago deep to flip the field position.

It all played a part.

Can the QB line up more than 5 yds back in shotgun, like borderline punter?
Maybe that would buy Burrow a couple extra seconds.
Center would have to have a rocket arm though, and couldn't look between his legs like a long snapper..

QB can scoot up for pistol formation, don't see why he can't scoot back.
I would try it at this point with Cincy's o line

I'm sure people said the same thing about Payton.

To quote the guy I watched the game with “oh, this game will be fun. They are just as shitty on offense as the bears!”

The bengals Olinr was being torn up all day. They didn’t have time to go down the field. Burrow didn’t have a good game. Yes I was trolling about it yesterday but it’s not a big deal

No OC at Carolina is ever turning down a head coaching job in the NFL.
