NIL inducements to sign new players retroactive.

That was and still is a violation. Schools cannot offer money to student athletes to get them to sign with their school. That never changed.

He could have at least mumble typed that Saban offered him a car to go to Alabama.

Without that he hasn’t said a damn thing.

Explain the issue here

The only issue I have is that Saban is now complaining about the Aggies paying players. I also don't understand why Jimbo is denying they paid players when it is pretty obvious, they did. I don't have a problem with the Aggies paying players either. They organized a group, put together a hell of a plan and executed it to perfection. I wish LSU would have organized our NIL program earlier, but we had other issues to resolve first

I don’t have a problem with what aTm did either.

Clearly this is just a guess, but I’m thinking this NIL stuff got finalized and coaches, including Saban, figured “well shite, ok, these kids can get paid and handle that themselves with their parents, advisors of some sort, and companies.

Back to just recruiting like normal. Good for the kids I guess.”

At the least I think these coaches were thinking they’d need to tiptoe into what was “right” and “wrong” as far as recruiting HS kids and NIL.

When all of a sudden aTm is signing 8 of the top 25 players and rumors(false or not) start flying that they’ve pretty much bought these players Saban(and I assume the rest of the coaches) are like “Aw what the hell?!”

I’m guessing they all are in some range of “this is BAD for the sport” and “shite I wish we would have done that.”

I think Saban is just getting talking points out there as he wants discussion to move forward on what is really ok and what isn’t AND to tell Alabama folks that we will be doing this type of stuff if it turns out it’s ok.

aTm took a risk that many didn’t and it should pay off. Saban didn’t need to take that risk and will now move forward less risk averse.

What we saw from him was annoyance mixed with announcing that it’s time to get NIL recruiting going if that’s how it’s going to be.

Jimbo lost his mind.

I think you’re 100% spot on

Jimbo has been pissy about the nil being responsible for months. His ego can’t take it

The ncaa needs to make clear what is allowed and everyone needs to move on. Just let coaches know if they can operate like A&M or not

Aren’t there some A&M boosters from this collective that are on record saying they’ve “secured” recruits via the collective funds? Feel like I heard that on the radio today.

Also, Saban is dumb for the comments and Jimbo is an unhinged tard.
