Sorry, you guys are right.
Point still stands, though.

It's not like any of these Catholic League schools have done anything in the last 30 years besides Rummel.
Most, if not all, of the schools have made it to the semi-finals or state championship game in the last 30 years, aside from Holy Cross.
I'd say that without a doubt, it is the best district in the state of Louisiana for football.
And always has been.

Anthony Scelfo is only 27 but from what I hear that guy knows football. As most of you know both his dad and uncle coach in the NFL so clearly it is in his blood. Who are some other possible names being thrown out there ?

Guess the Morgan Stanley thing didn't work out of Anthony

Anyone at Jesuit remember Coach Hrapmann? He was there about 10 years ago, not sure if he still is there.
He had a screechy voice, looked like Mr. Clean and called kids "dumbass" and "douchebag". He played for Northwestern St back in the day and his claim to fame was that he picked off Terry Bradshaw

I had Tyrone Hughes for PE one year. He pretty much would take us to the field, give us a football and either talk on his phone the whole period or get in his teal Expedition and leave during class.

And exactly how are you measuring this? Based on how competitive? College talent? Championships?
I've been watching Catholic League football all my life and I would not agree with you.

what's ironic is that it's now 9-4A... (Easton, Karr, Landry-Walker, 35, Belle Chasse)
and holy cross did make the semis recently and lost to karr
if you go from 1-6 it probably still is the best district

Even then, 2-5A was the top dog. Not sure how anyone can say best football district. Win something before even mentioning that. And yes, I know having a coach in PE doesn't mean much or teaching civics, but that shows less focus when compared to what the big programs do today

Competitiveness.
Aside from Holy Cross, I'm pretty sure every school has been to the at least the state semi-finals multiple times in the last 30 years.
And Holy Cross might have as well when they went down a class after Katrina (not sure about that).
Is there another 5A district in the state that has similar results?

I bet I can name an coach that Jay Roth doesn't want to see in his district....after watching some 7 on 7 action against Rummel and a 2A school.

one semifinal trip from 1967 to 2012.....

He's talking about Newman. Newman did well against Rummel in 7 on 7, so clearly Roth should be worried about Nelson Stewart going to Jesuit.

but now it's two years in a row...
i know a former jesuit defensive coordinator under keiser... i wonder if he'll apply.
