He (Fulmer) deserves every bit of this. He should have been fired for cause after his Majors stunt.

If there was some massive cheating they didn't get a good return on investment

Phil is a pos, but I have zero sympathy for Johnny. He brought that all on himself by the way he started acting in the summer of ‘92.

Kevin Steele is doing work this offseason. First he undermines Gus at Auburn. Now he’s been the DC in Knoxville for only about a week, and he’s done the same to Pruitt.

Please explain. I've always been a big Majors fan. What did he do that summer?

Not just that summer but the entire season. There was a wage freeze in place at the time because UT was struggling financially. UT President Joe Johnson had promised Majors that he’d get a raise after the freeze was lifted. Majors started bitching publicly about his salary and why he hasn’t received an extension.

Then the heart attack and emergency bypass surgery happened. Fulmer was named interim and season got off to a great start. They were 3-0 and had upset both Georgia and Florida. Then Majors showed up to the complex completely unannounced and took over the program again. It fractured the locker room and coaching staff.

Tennessee lost three out of their next five, including two shocking upsets at the hands of Arkansas and South Carolina. Both of whom were in their first year in the SEC. Again, Fulmer didn’t handle the situation well, but the university had no choice but to move on from Johnny. The entire offensive staff was going to leave after the season because of Johnny’s actions that season.

Yeah, I remember all of this. I just remember Majors calling Fulmer "Judas Brutus" and saying Phil stabbed him in the back, etc.

Fulmer also went to the AD and board saying he was taking the Wyoming job and taking every assistant before the season. He the slandered Majors when in hospital.

They hired an investigation so it sounds like they ratted on themselves to fire Pruitt

They should make sure they let Clay Travis decide their hire this time around as well.
