Royce O'Neale will replace Mike Conley in the starting lineup

Lots of ppl in media pegged Jazz to be title contenders at the beginning of the season when they signed Conley. Ouch

I despise the jazz but have always really liked conley and thought he would be a great fit for them

has anyone been watching them enough to say why it hasn't worked out? wondering if it's a scheme issue or just old fashioned regression.

Teams have 5 out them to death once Houston did it. Teams take their center off the court and pull Gobert away from the basket. And then attack Conley off dribble and you get to the rim. Their D has been terrible. O’Neal is a better defender on ball. And this lineup played well when mike was out. Hopefully they can get it together. I can see them giving a team like the lake show a REAL series if they can figure it out.

Someone on this board told me that Trae Young needs to watch Conley to learn how to play PG.

He dropped off fast. There were times last year he was carrying Memphis in games before they’d eventually lose in the 4th quarter.

maybe a case of him not fitting that sqaud as much as him being washed. Jeff green got cut by them and he is gonna be playing a key role in the CC ascension to that 2 seed. fit is important.

I remember when everyone overreacted to that deal. I never saw the hype.

Both.

Conley has played in one system with really one guy doing the pick/roll/etc.

Sometimes players like that, especially who are really the heart of a team, don’t move well to new teams. You know Conley bleeds Grizz.

But he is missing shots he used to make. Like the floaters.

You’re better than this, B.

Utah at their very best will get G-swept by the Lake show

Jeff Green is terrible. There's a reason he's on his 8th team in 5 years. He's not a "fit" anywhere at this point in his career.

I don’t think lake show is guaranteed to g sweep any team who makes the west playoffs. They are not like a Houston where you know the opponent will get g swept unless they are like a warriors level team.

Against the best teams in the league the lake show does not stand out. They do however do a great job of not dropping games they shouldn’t to the dregs of the league.

For example:

The only teams in the West that have positive net ratings (net points per 100 possessions) against the top 10 in net rating... Houston Rockets (+1.9) LA Lakers (+0.9) Denver Nuggets (+0.5)

Just bc he was bad for your team And you think he sucks doesn’t mean he can’t play well elsewhere. no reason to be such a hater tbt. Fit is very important.

Good times.

Utah must be a very scheme-dependant team. Ed Davis was an excellent backup C with Portland and Brooklyn but had been complete trash with the Jazz.
