James Harden hates living in New York, preferred living in Houston

His new city could also be an issue. According to multiple sources, Harden has not enjoyed living in Brooklyn, compared to his days as a central Houston magnate. Outside of the change in climate, the chasm between state taxes in New York versus Texas is quite obvious as well.
To be clear: There has been no trade request. A Nets-Sixers deal is highly unlikely to materialize prior to the deadline. Yet Harden's apparent openness to joining Embiid and reuniting with Philadelphia president Daryl Morey will loom over the Sixers' trade conversations for Simmons these next three weeks. A potential sign-and-trade for Simmons this offseason, was noted by Bleacher Report back in early December.

His house is still available in Carlton Woods.

The Rockets gave him exactly what he wanted and he still isn't happy. He'll never find what he's looking for.
He's going to always regret forcing Chris Paul out of Houston for Westbrook. That trade ended the Harden era and ended the Morey era.
Although I think the Morey/China thing pissed off Tilman.

Is that really where he lived when he was with the Rockets?

:slow clap:
You forced yourself out, dumbass. And IIRC you picked the landing spot by refusing to cooperate with the Rockets unless you went to one of your preferred teams.

James is a fat douche but he’s not necessarily a headcase.
Throwing Simmons in with KD and Kyrie would be an all time collection of headcases.

CP3 did for a little until he realized the drive was too far.

Yep. I think he moved downtown during his second year or maybe right before and his family went back to LA. First tip he was probably not sticking around for a while

Morey was never going to last with Tilman, IMO. It was a awkward arranged marriage. The china thing absolutely didn't help.

Didn’t he practically live in a strip club while in Houston? Or am I confusing him for someone else.

By that, I take it you mean “Morey wanted to win while Tillman wanted to nickel and dime everything.”
From what I saw, Morey did pretty damn good with the limits put on him but his core players and his bench players were often dictated by Harden’s bullshite demands and Tillman being unwilling to pay the tax in order to try and get over the top.

Not sure about Houston but he pretty much lived there while on the road IIRC.
He probably put more black women through college than the United Negro College Fund.

Who would want to live in NYC in these current times? Always found that city extremely overrated. Give me Chicago for 3 months out of the year as far as big cities go.

Morey was great, and I think most of his bad moves (the Westbrook one being the giant bad one) were mostly dictated by trying to keep Harden happy and on the roster.
I am still iffy on Tillman but to be fair Les didn’t really pay the tax either. I do think personalities like Tillman and Morey had little chance of coexisting long term. That plus the writing on the wall with Harden and it was time for a fresh start for Morey

quote:This is way overblown. If it was a star player that put them over the tax, he absolutely would have paid it. But it was an old Trevor Ariza. Trevor Ariza would have cost something crazy like $45 million for one year. No GM would do that.
Tillman being unwilling to pay the tax
I think many people don’t understand how the luxury tax works. Going deep into the tax hampers your ability to improve your team. It’s crippling. Morey himself wouldn’t have wanted to spend $45 million for Trevor Ariza.
Also, for the record, Tilman has said many times he has no problem going into the luxury tax if it makes sense.

this is more what i am talking about. Tillman seems like someone that wants his guys around and Morey isn't a yes man

This totally makes sense why Boom was trying to argue Embiid was better than Jokic last week.
