Does this count in the Fulmer Cup standings?

Yeah, she was driving at 104 mph with a BAC of .197.
While driving a UGA company vehicle as a recruiting coordinator. UGA going to have some major liability for the potential earnings of the D Lineman that was killed.

Wasn’t Bobby Phils killed while drag racing against a teammate? I think it was David Wesley he was racing.
Correct. They were leaving Hornets basketball practice. Neither was drinking though.

Easy to say but racing has been around forever. This country loves its cars and many are racing stuff, built from the factory to get drivers in trouble. So who buys a vehicle that comes from the dealer pushing 400 HP and only plans on doing the speed limit?
It doesn't condone drinking and driving or even speeding. But there is nothing new in this country about it. Hell it's a tradition.

I’m assuming they can’t prove it but wouldn’t we expect Jalen Carter also was drunk at that time in middle of night? Unless he doesn’t drink ever?

When Carter returned to the crash scene two hours later and was interviewed the cops said they didn’t get any sense he was intoxicated. Question is whether two hours would be enough time to sober up before talking to the cops.

And I’m assuming UGA knew of this with Jalen Carter but now news is just coming out? Sounds like they were trying to sweep this under the rug.

Didn’t the woman die at the hospital?

Nah. Jalen is still at worst a top-5 pick. Talent over transgressions.

You wish. He doesn't even play for UGA anymore.

The story is a byproduct of sensationalist journalism. Carter was racing, but evidently the girl who was driving the other car (purportedly while intoxicated) was a willing participant. And it was a single vehicle accident.
Not a good look for Carter. And he probably ought to stash some money from his first contract away for the civil lawsuit. But there doesn't seem to be anything there now indicating he can be charged in the death of the two people in the other car.
This. 100% this.
The AJC can go frick themselves.

That doesn't make it any better. "Damn, looks like they're dead. Gotta go!"

Not this line of thinking again.

Not saying he isnt a piece of shite but the driver of the car that crashed didnt have to race.
How many basic white girls you know that street race?
I'm guessing the passengers pressured her into it.

Perhaps true, but Jalen Carter is extremely lucky he didn't kill a third party like Henry Ruggs did. People are probably racing like this all over the country and it's pure luck they don't kill someone else. Luck ran out for Ruggs, and perhaps we should consider stiffer penalties for racing like a dumbass on public streets.

McShay got roasted for scooping that there were "character issues" with Carter. Looks like he knew what he was reporting.
McShay said that a month before this incident though and even what he was hinting at seemed to be more based on getting along with coaches/teammates type issue. Might've been more "lucky" than prescient.
