You are a fricking moron.

And McCown outplayed Garrard last season but got hurt. McCown is at least as good as Garrard, if not better, and isn't due to make 8mil this year.

shite Washington could make an attempt to get him.

That would be a good fit for him, but there are several teams that can use him as well.

Cincinnati, S.F., Oakland (maybe), Seattle are other teams off the top of my head that might be able to use his services.

As a Jags fan I could not be happier. They were going to lose the loyal fans if they didn't take their lumps with Gabbert at some point this season.

However, we are starting Luke McKown.

I'm sure he will take the Jaguars to the promised land.

Prove me wrong...

Why is Del Rio still the coach?

They DO not develop their talent.

Why can't they fill their stadium? The only game I've ever seen filled up was when the Steelers were in town a few years ago (I was there). I've been to other games (company has tickets) and it looks like the FSU home games with less people there.

Why is Weaver voted one of the worst owners in the NFL by writers and fans alike? Look it up. Google "nfl owner rankings".

Fact is Jacksonville is a horrible organization led by Weaver who clearly does not know how to run an NFL team. Well... He knows how to run it into the ground.

At least Al Davis was successful during his tenure. Hell... Even the Bengals won their division in the past few years. Better than the Jags.

John Clayton just tweeted the following.

The release of David Garrard saves the Jags $8.1 million and puts them $33 million under the cap.

I'm sure Garrard would have.

He probably isn't going to be after this season. He's been kept because of his salary and he was given a little bit of room since we started to rebuild after Shack left.

Wrong. We haven't drafted talent until recently. We picked a lot of busts, that's not a coaching issue. However you'll find few fans that support Del Rio as coach. What talent did we not develop, specifically?

We didn't have a single blackout last year. Our stadium holds 80,000+ because of Florida/Georgia. Even with the tarps we have one of the bigger stadiums in the league, even though we're one of the smaller markets. Try to put two and two together there.

I found one Yahoo article and he was ranked 23rd.
Owner Rankings

But you're right, he's the worst owner in the league because "writers and fans" voted in a poll.

Seriously, you are an idiot. How has he run it into the ground?

Put Oakland in the AFC South in those years and we can think about how they would have fared.

Good point. I would have been terrified to face Garrard. Imagine going up aginst a quarterback that can't call an audible or go through his progressions.

Too horrible to even think about...

Radio guys here seem to think that it was a gene smith move more than del rio.

I think they are saving some money, seeing what they get with mcknown, and grooming gabbert. The timing is crazy though.

The timing makes me think Del Rio, not Smith.

Apparently the players weren't surprised and had known it was coming sooner or later.

They shouldn't be surprised. Del Rio did the same thing 4 years ago when he dropped Byron Leftwich right before Labor Day weekend and installed Garrard as his starter.

Tell me... How many pro bowlers have come from the Jags recently? I mean, besides Jones-Drew who is really the only player outside of Jacksonville that anyone knows about. Wait... If I remember, Garrard went to the pro bowl last year. That means Jax just cut a pro bowl QB. Awesome!

And that IS a coaching issue. Does Del Rio not help with the draft? Part of his job is talent evaluation correct?

I mean, think about the top teams. Steelers, San Diego, Jets, Patriots, etc. All of them consistently develop their players into stars.

With the tarps on I believe the capacity is 67k (or around there) right with a no blackout of 50k? Something like that. 67k puts Jax in the lower half of capacity. And you're right. Jax did increase attendance last year. So I'm wrong there. However... We'll see if that continues if the losing begins... again.

How about Forbes ranking the Jags dead last in the rankings as well? Does that count?

Or how about Sports Illustrated? That count?

Put Oakland in the AFC South in those years and we can think about how they would have fared.

When was the last time Jax went to the super bowl? When was the last time Oakland went? Case closed...

Oh... I don't know... I'm sure you'll figure it out when it's the LA Jaguars. Oh, and the Jags are worth less than any other NFL franchise. I mean, if you believe what Forbes has to say.

I didn't see it coming either, in a division with a weaker Colts team that is up for grabs this year.

Is there anyone left who doesn't think the Jags are trying to pull a Major League, mail it in, empty out their stadium so they can have an excuse to move to the Taj Mahal they're building in Los Angeles?

Jaguars management just pulled one of these:
