Starting to sound an awful lot like the London Jaguars are inevitable at this point.

Jaguars playing back-to-back home games at Wembley Stadium in 2020. First team in NFL history to play multiple home games outside the US in a single season.

quote:

The Jacksonville Jaguars will play two home games in London in the 2020 season, the NFL team have announced. The Jaguars have played one game per year at Wembley Stadium since 2013 and have now increased their commitment to their UK fanbase.

quote:

It has been announced that the Jacksonville Jaguars will play two consecutive home fixtures in the next NFL season at Wembley as speculation continues to grow that they could establish a franchise in London.

Their owner, Shahid Khan, is based in London, and is also the owner and chairman of Fulham FC. He has yet to commit to a move for the Jaguars, but there is a growing belief that they are the most likely team to relocate to London.

Khan released a statement following the news, and said: "This isn't about the next season or the next few seasons in Jacksonville, but really about the next 10 years, 25 years and beyond."

An obvious step towards moving them there.

inb4 everyone being up in arms about a London team

I’ll never understand the irrational hostility toward growing the game outside this country

Maybe if their fan base didn’t suck the Jags wouldn’t be looking elsewhere for revenue

Goodell said there would likely be a team in Canada before anywhere else.
Toronto most likely option.

Free market conservative SDVTiger wants to tell an owner where they can and can’t move their team

I feel bad for Jags fans. Shad Khan is quickly moving up the list of worst owners.

It doesn't make any sense logistically to have a standalone team in Europe. They could never host a prime time game, they could never host a Super Bowl, the scheduling to accommodate for the travel would be a nightmare, etc...

it's difficult but not impossible

So what?

nah, just add a 2nd bye week, when a team is coming back from London they get a bye. London team plays 4 blocks of home-away-home-away games & has a US base like Youngstown when they are away. Schedule creatively so their first game in the US each block is on the east coast where it's not any worse a flight from London as many many many other road games.

All this complaining just sounds like you don't want a team outside the US for some weird protectionist reason. Like you don't want non-Americans to like football or something. It's really weird.

It's not quite as straightforward under their system but I think they definitely would push for it if UEFA would let them.

could be the 7 hour flight + time zone difference negatively affecting players but I've been wrong before

They can still like football without having a team, just how people in this country can like the EPL or La Liga without having a team.

no because there's promotion and relegation in English Soccer.
American Business men wouldn’t want to take a team from the bottom to the top in the Us
The FA wouldn’t allow it either
