"Is this the beginning of the end Nebraska in the Big 10?"

The dominoes are about to fall and they’re going to land on a lot of good people.
And one might happen that we didn’t expect.
Will we remember this as the beginning of the end of Nebraska and the Big Ten?
Absolutely. And the way the Big Ten and Kevin Warren have conducted themselves, that would be a good thing.
The signals were sent initially by Scott Frost on Monday and retransmitted on Tuesday by Frost, NU President Ted Carter, Chancellor Ronnie Green and Athletic Director Bill Moos.
First question: “Is Nebraska bolting for the Big 12?”
I don’t hear any denials coming out of Lincoln. Or Chicago.
quote:
But the Big Ten has made some strange moves of late. It shocked the other major conferences last month by announcing it would play conference games only.
Then, last week it released a full Big Ten schedule for the 2020 season. Six days later, it was over.
Then came Warren’s interview Tuesday on the Big Ten Network. It was eye-opening. Head-scratching. Certainly, embarrassing.
What changed in the last six days? Warren did not answer. Was Nebraska allowed to play non-Big Ten schools? Warren rambled something nonsensical. Again, no answer.
BTN host Dave Revsine handled the interview well, asking the same tough but fair questions once and twice. But Warren flunked the big moment.
For the past two days, a handful of Big Ten coaches — including Frost — basically challenged the league and the new commissioner. Would Warren fire back? Would he assert his position of power?
No. He swung and missed, by saying absolutely nothing.
If you are Nebraska you are running out of reasons to be here.

First it was unhappiness with the Big 12. Now it's unhappiness with the Big Ten. Maybe the problem isn't the conferences, the problem is Nebraska. The Huskers are a faded football power that will never get back to their former status, like an aged starlet that has lost her looks.
Nebraska is having an issue with coming to terms with who they are now. As a result they lash out at their conference mates.
Face it Nebraska, you're not a big deal anymore. If you want to leave, see ya. Enjoy being UT's bitch.

There is truth to this. They bring nothing to the table, and expect to be treated as a power. If I were NEB, I express my opinion then say you will support the BIG leadership.

Your point, while true , is moot here. Their entire position is about money. This is fricking Nebraska, who just so happen to have one of the best, most loyal and generous fanbases in the country. They live for Cornhusker football. They want games. Nebraska also wants to make money. Can't do that without football. It's their right, as a profit producing business to do what they need to do in order to make profit. Their conference reneged on their deal against their wishes. The Big 10 has displayed nothing but arrogance and an entitled attitude through this. Theyve been shown they aren't as elite as they think the are.

In the end money talks and the Big 10 revenue distribution is much better than the Big 12. They're not throwing years of $$ away even though the Big 12 is a better fit for them.

I think there is a lot of truth here.
As I said before, Nebraska to the B1G was truly bizarre. They don't fit in at all.
Nebraska, Iowa, and Northwestern are the three smallest schools in the B1G. And it's not even close... Nebraska and Northwestern are in the 20s, Iowa in the 30s, everyone else in the 40s or more (enrollment).
Northwestern serves the same role in the B1G that Vandy does in the SEC. Iowa is a weird fit as well but they have been there for 120 plus years.
Nebraska fits in the Big XII more than the B1G, but honestly, they don't fit really well in either, anymore. Nebraska will hate to hear this, but truthfully, they are more aligned with the MWC.

Iowa is on par with Nebraska in terms of fan support and money. Iowa also voted to play football this fall. When the conference decided as a group that wasn't going to happen Iowa stayed silent and fell in line in support of the Big Ten. This mindset that once something is decided we stick together has served the Big Ten well for over 100 years and has made it the most profitable and strongest conference in the country.
If Nebraska doesn't understand how things work in the conference then maybe they should find a new home. Again, it comes back to Nebraska not being happy. It's a Husker issue that they haven't found the success they thought they would in the Big Ten. They expected to come in and win this conference every year. Instead they are a .500 team and have lost 5 straight, 6 out of the last 7, to their main "new" rival Iowa. Nebraska just isn't happy with Nebraska right now.
As for this season, the Big Ten will be fine. We've got more money and resources than God in this conference. So we delay until spring, everybody else plays proving it can be done, then the BIG plays in the spring with fans in the stands because we have some vaccine that puts everybody's mind at ease. Big Ten wins in that scenario. Full stands and TV to themselves this spring. It's possible.

Absolutely right. Also no one wants to hear this now but being a member of a conference is about a lot more than football. Changing conferences won't help Nebraska in any way, the B1G is a bad fit but an amazing deal for Nebraska. Anything else on the table will hurt Nebraska in the long run.

Well, there’s shite else to do in that miserable state, so I guess that’s reason enough to leave yet another conference. Thing is, who’s gonna want their miserable arse now?

Dude, I'm just hoping right now.
If the SEC pulls off this fall season successfully then the BIG will be forced to play in the spring, they'd be out of excuses. And maybe that happens with fans, who knows?

there is no chance the big ten plays a spring schedule only to turn around and play a fall one. delaying to the spring is cancelling for the entire year
