He has 10 HRs but only 14 RBIs. That's a pretty pathetic statement about the 1 and 2 hole hitters OBP.

Well our one (Simmons, BJ) and two (Heyward) whole hitters have been awful.

PEDs won't help you THAT much.

bullshite they won't! Look at the HR leaders from 98 and 2008.

1998

1 guy over 70, 1 over 65, 2 over 50, 5 over 45 and 4 more over 40.

LINK

In 2008 only 1 guy was over 45 and one other over 40. Everyone else had under 40HRs

You can do this with any 2 years from the steroid era vs non-steroid era and will get similar results, I picked those 2 years at random.

Nope. I'm aware that both the brothers were drafted #2 overall.

Pretty embarrassing I'd imagine

My bad. Justin Upton was taken #1 overall. I should just kill myself now.

So after playing in highschool, the minors, and with the Diamondbacks, he decides now "hey! I'm in my prime, time to start juicin'." Seems legit.

I mean, I guess you can't rule the possibility of PED's out for any power hitter these days, but it seems weird that he'd have just started it this year as you're implying. I don't think he is using PED's, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was either. There are a lot of guys I wouldn't be surprised to hear it about.

Hmm, his forearms look a bit bigger, but it's hard to tell from just four pictures. Maybe he's been getting more protein?

He's definitely "thicker".

Like someone mentioned, the dude has always hit bombs. No reason to believe he juiced just because of a hot streak.

Yeah, it could just be as simple as him having a career year but, we can't say with complete certainty if or how long he'll keep this pace up. I hope he keeps crushing the ball the way he is, but everyone cools off a bit eventually.

He's always had great power but...

He had zero protection last year. They have to pitch to him.

This is BS. He played in one of the top hitter parks. I'll give some credence to not being entirely healthy last year (thumb issue I believe) but him pouting like a 13 year old girl all season is the truth.

link? Its basic logic hitting in a better lineup is a great benefit to the hitter
So you would think, except the actual facts disagree.

I'm on my phone, not really able to find the links right now.

I've seen studies that debunked the existence of clutch, but never lineup protection, and I eat drink and sleep baseball. Maybe that's what you're thinking of
Google "lineup protection" or "lineup protection myth"

Of course adding the "myth" will give you studies to debunk the notion. But even if you leave off the myth, you will see studies, and you'll find multiple say it's not true, while I haven't found any studies pointing out that it is true.
