Absolutely. One of the few sports where any play can be naturally manipulated after the fact. It can potentially happen so often in any given game that we as fans have been conditioned to generally accept it.

100% yes. It’s the biggest problem. They’ve gotten so granular on things like “what is a catch” that it’s borderline impossible to know wtf is going on.

I sat we modify replay
Get rid of it for football plays
But have a replay of refs decisions by a panel at HQ live. If they determine ref made a major error they have replacement refs at game and sideline him. During week he takes some remedial classes to recert for games.
If they see minor misses then after 3 of those he is replaced and same thing, remedial ti recert.
This all takes place privately but once a ref is replaced its announced so everyone knows. Would do that at next game stoppage.
There are many ways they can fix the product but current way allows some manipulation so why change it. You will never hear when they catch a ref betting because it would destroy their product. They will come down with “life changes” where they can’t ref ever again.
