I would take the 1994 49'ers
They might have big names on that team but they weren't even in the top 10 in passing yards allowed. Steelers and browns allowed 12 and 13 passing td that year respectively. SF had 15. And Deion and crew didn't tackle as well as LOB.

I'll still take the 49'ers
Just a personal preference. I think the Niners defense that year was under rated and you couldn't run on them so the passing was higher.
You had Norton, Stubblefield, Jackson, Dent, Plummer, etc.
The thing I like about Seattle is they can play both Zone and man.

I've always thought the Ravens had the best all time.
Dwayne Starks, Chris McAllister, Rod Woodson, Ed Reed & Samari Rolle

Probably, but the front 7 helps those guys out a bunch

No, Dwight Hicks and the Hot Licks featuring Ronnie Lott.
SF in the eighties.

Do you know about their defensive ranking/accomplishment? Lott had a reputation of a bad-arse, hard hitter, enforcer. I'm not too familiar with his coverage skills.

Rod Woodson never played with Ed Reed tho

That raiders secondary was bad as but they could also mug the receivers back then. If the Legion of boom could play under those rules it would be game over

Lott was an All American and Pro Bowler at Corner because of his cover skills

Def in the discussion, best yet still to be determined

Considering the era of football, what they've done is amazing

Those guys didn't all play on the same team...Woodson and Starks were gone before reed was drafted, and Samari rolle was quite a few years later
