No Sunday pod with bill after saying last Sunday that he didn’t vote for Obama, saying the ringer has diversity and has friends that are police. LINK to the pod about the protest and riots

Then later apologized but has not released a pod since his apology. Largely off Twitter since

Ringer union basically sub tweets him with this

LINK

Bill Simmons’ sub reddit is on full witch hunt

Ringer staff complain it’s not diverse enough .

I don’t see it. Just sounds like your usual BLM post.

I think he’s just letting things cool off because he came in hot right when it went down and self admittedly made some mistakes on that pod. He wanted to put the apology out there and then let it breathe

This reads like his silence after the Montana situation. Doubt hes getting canceled but just letting things die down

Probably for the best when they were doing their 4th consecutive “Wildly speculate on COVIDs effect on future sports” podcast in a row.

He said he wasn't tweeting stuff out about the current times on that pod with Simmons. He wasn't gonna start tweeting more after it didn't go over well.

It’s not like he was really tweeting a lot before. He tweets like 2 times a week

If the Ringer lets him go, I'll listen to whatever platform picks him up. I could listen to him break down any topic. I always felt like he was an odd fit at the Ringer. He typically falls in the center of things and has a level head about every event.

If I listen to an entire podcast and have legit zero clue what someone has to apologize or be canceled for, I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's not me that is tone deaf, it's on the people who have lost their f'ing minds.

imagine a world where you can get absolutely crucified for not voting a certain way, believing in protests, and not believing in looting. sounds like a blast

I, admittedly, skipped most of his apology, but the beginning was about how he made it seem like he cared more about the looting than the death of Floyd.

Apparently, the two things are mutually exclusive.

right?

I listened to that pod and really enjoyed it. Felt like it was legitimately level-headed and balanced.

I was floored when he apologized. I had no idea what he even did wrong. I'm still not entirely sure

It was the most forced apology I've ever heard. I'd imagine he was fuming for days for having to do it. It was ridiculous.
