Obviously it helps some. But he is by far the most athletic corner in the NFL, yet he isn't even close to the best. Adrian Peterson is the best running back in the NFL, and he might be the most athletic.

Patrick Peterson is a waste of talent because he just doesn't have the instincts and coverage skills to match.

I don't have an opinion one way or the other on Peterson.

but...

is this now the Holy Grail as far as evaluating players in the NFL now?

I follow some of their stuff too, don't get me wrong but what is wrong with forming your very own opinion of a player these days?

you won't find me dropping some cash to have access to their premium content. No.. I'll just form my own fricking opinion!!!!

Even if it does suck... most of the time it does.

I actually think because of the hate PP is underrated on this board. He is slightly overrated on tiger rant, and underrated on SEC rant and this board

If Adrian Peterson weren't such a ridiculous athlete, he would be a run of the mill runningback.

See how dumb that statement is?

No. Its not ridiculous at all. His point is Adrian Peterson is discussed because of his incredible play on the field. Yes, his athleticism helps him do that. But people don't talk about him just because he's athletic. That would be more like Reggie Bush.

Whether he is correct or not is another matter. But he is saying he is talked about because of his potential and athleticism rather than his actual quality. Guys with great measureables are sometimes overrated.

He was flat out awful last year. When mediocre Wrs abuse you it's pathetic. Elite Wrs(Julio) had career days against him. He has been living off hype and athleticism for a while now. He is not a top 10 corner and will be cut if he has another year like this last one.

Because they watch literally every play of the season focusing on a player. You might watch, what, a few Cardinals games a year? And how many do you focus on Peterson for? How many do you even have that camera angle available to you?

Well Open your eyes, my point is clearly the cardins and multiple other people see him as one of the best corners and that has nothing to do with Lsu. Get my point now?

1. That has exactly 0 to do with the comment about how this thread will go over on this board, which you were originally responding to.

2. Are we supposed to take from your "point" that all nfl execs decision making skills are infallible? Because if so, you clearly aren't paying very much attention.

Exactly. For some reason people like to evaluate players, and then give them extra credit for being athletic. They end up counting athleticism twice.

I don't know, but I do know they actually take the time to analyze NFL player's game without subjective opinions. I think it's the best tool used to evaluate players at this point...

This thread has gone exactly how I expected it would. LSU fans talking about former LSU players are about as rational as parents talking about their own children.

He definitely is. He's a top Corner, but probably not quite as high as some people try to put him.

but what makes their grading system legit? Are they former coaches, players?

I just think its kind of weak for most people to go to the because PFF said so well all the time now.

You just implied that Patrick Peterson's athleticism doesn't help him on the field, right?

You win the Dumbest shite I've Heard Today award.

It's the best grading system we've got. Do you disagree?

According to pff, the God of all Gods, PP was ranked the 58th best overall player in the NFL. I would consider that pretty damn good. But who knows

that's cool though. There is no need for homerism at every corner.
