re: Is Nebraska Football still a blue blood?

Pre WW2? That's your analogy? I've been following college football since 1980, and Texas always played a bunch of scrubs. Baylor, TCU, TT, Rice were a bunch of scrubs in that conference. All of them were cheating, and still went 4-6/3-7. That's the definition of a loser. UT swung it's dic* around or years and still couldn't win squat. The program has always been a wannabe. Prove me wrong

Laughable coming from a Michigan fan
Before 2023, what had you accomplished in the last 60 years on the national stage outside of a co-national championship in 1997 with Nebraska?

Also (and I'm happy with UF's overall rank) but it's full retard to use claimed national titles.

It’s a nice title but doesn’t mean a whole lot at the end of the day right now.
CFB fans approx 30 years old or younger have no first hand basis by which to know NU as anything other than a middling-decent to poor college football team.
Nebraska still possesses enough name recognition and overall history that a few consistent winning seasons and some deeper playoff runs would probably get additional opinions agreeing they are back in the conversation quicker vs. a school that really hasn’t enjoyed sustained success before at the highest levels.
But, right now, just be nice to see some consistency, some consecutive winning seasons and some post season action again. It’s been a minute since even that.
Folk’s opinions on whether NU is a blueblood or not has no impact on that task at hand.
GBR!

Does it get more offseason-y then MSBaws pontificating over who is/isnt a BlUe bLoOd
“Texas belongs on this list.”
“Nebraska and Michigan? What year is it?”
“If Texas is a blue blood then Yale is a blue blood!”
“LSU and Georgia should be there if Nebraska is!”
“Notre Dame?!”
Same fricking shite every damn time

No, but I don't think Michigan is either.
Ohio State
Alabama
USC
ND
Are the only Blue Bloods.
ETA: my reasoning behind UM is that I really discount the pre-Depression and to some extent pre-WWII records of a lot of these teams.

LSU fans really do believe college football started in 2000.

They have the same number of national titles that LSU has. If Texas isn’t a blue blood then LSU sure as hell isn’t one.

this is such a shite take.
just because they didn't see it doesn't mean they don't know it happened.
I never saw Herschel or Bo play in college, but I still know of their legendary status.

More like three decades. Even when they "had a shot" since then, everyone knew they stood no chance of actually winning.

Yes, but I think what they meant to CFB coming out of WWII had probably one of the biggest impacts to the growth of the sport.
