Career completion percentages

Brees 67.5
Ryan 65.5
Rodgers 64.8
Brady 64.0
Manning 65.3
Rivers 64.5

Of those 6, Brees has the highest percentage of his yards from YAC and the lowest air yards on his throws. Brady is right behind him (above him?), in each category.

Draw your own conclusions.

Impressive for Brady and Rodgers considering they’ve been up north their entire careers.

Y.A. Tittle served up more ints than Namath, yet magically gets ignored by this arbitrary standard. He was also below a 1:1 td to int ratio.

Tittle 242 TD Passes to 248 INT's (an reminder Joe was 178 and 222) and a higher completion percentage than Joe (55% to 50%) in an era a decade are more before Namath when passing was even less of a part of the game than in Namath's era. By any metric his numbers are better than Namath's and while I don't have the time I bet his numbers in relation to the best of his peers are much more comparable than Namath's vs the best of his peers.

I guess that guaranteed Superbowl victory didn't earn Broadway Joe any swag!

You will never, ever get an unbiased debate regarding Matt Ryan on this website. It is full of mouthbreathers from Louisiana whose only debating skills are "hurr durr Matt Ryan sucks".

He’s getting free meals delivered by Medicare so I’d say it worked out for him, no?

Actually most of us were defending his HoF prospects before God's chosen imbecile jumped in the thread

Lol no you weren’t. Go back in read page one.

I’ll give you credit, you weren’t full mouthbreathing like the rest but you were stuck on that “needs 5 more years” and “won’t be a first ballot guy.”

It wasn’t a question of first ballot or not. Either you are a HoFer or not. Who gives a frick if you have to wait a year or two? Hell we all knew by 2005 that T.O. was a guaranteed HoF and he still had to wait a year.,

Like dude said, the only place this is a debate on is here. Check other places, he is considered nearly a lock, unless he walks away right now, and even then, he’s still 50/50.

Uh no. Plenty of other boards like r/nfl are split at best on him being “nearly a lock”. Plenty of people think he’s on the cusp, he just needs a few more good years.

I would take everything you read sports related on Reddit with a massive grain of salt. That place is extremely tribal with football - literally everyone believes their teams/players are great and everyone else is absolute trash.

Oddly enough their nba stuff is usually good, mainly because they balance out their topnotch shitposting with great advanced stats posts.

But yeah Matt Ryan will be a HoFer.

Really? Here's an article from a FALCONS WEBSITE (haha) this year saying he isn't deserving

LINK

Here's another from a couple of years ago - after his MVP season though - saying he's a long shot

LINK

and here's another from this year saying more or less exactly what I said, he's had a good run but needs more good seasons to really be considered

LINK

Your 'step outside your bubble' argument has merit only if you think everyone you're addressing really exists in that bubble. I live on the West Coast, and the next time I hear anyone extolling the virtues of Matt Ryan will be the first time. He simply isn't regarded in the same way as Brees, Rodgers, or Brady and never will be, which if I'm being honest and not even a Saints homer is appropriate.

You’re the one that said that place is the only one that feels that way. So I brought up the biggest NFL message board out there. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen some Falcons fans on other sites say the same thing that he hasn’t done enough. They seem to realize that Ryan isn’t talked about a lot, so the voters might not put him in.

And you purposefully ignored the ones who said he’s in.

I’m pretty certain you’re the one who said most this is the only place it’s highly debated and most everyone else thinks he’s a lock. I said that it is debated, with plenty of people thinking he’s not a lock.

So I’ll break it down for your simple mind. Plenty of people means a lot of people don’t think he’s in, it doesn’t mean I said all people think that way. Now you would be correct if I said there was no debate because no one thinks he’s a HOFer, but nowhere did I say that.

I’m sure Matt Ryan is upset about you doubting his HoF chances. He may even cry about it in his HoF induction speech.

So you’ve reached the point when you’ve run of things to say so you’re rosorting to this. This which has nothing to do with an argument of whether or not he’s going to get in.

A decade before? Namath started playing the season directly after Tittle retired. There was no gap between the 2 players.

Because he's getting in lol. This is pretty much a litmus test question on if you are a saintard or not.

So once again no actual argument. Also once again, plenty of non Saints fans don’t think he’s a HOF QB right now.

A hall of famer is the best or the 2’nd best at their position for 4 years or more. I don’t care about their yards. I want to know if someone is the best at their position or not. There’s 4 qbs that fit that mold in this past era. Brady Brees manning and Rodgers.
Then there’s the next tier, very good but not hof material. Rivers, rapistburger, Ryan, even Eli. This the line.

So yes my little breezy is in the hof tier and ryan isn’t. Deal with it pussy.
