You either retire on top or play long enough to go full Dan Marino.

He has Edelman to throw to. That's it. Even great QBs need decent receivers, but Brady has Edelman and a bunch of guys that most of us couldn't name.

Nah, everyone was expecting this about a year or 2 ago on his inevitable decline.

Sanu is a top notch 2, Dorsett is a deep threat and quality 3, Harry is solid 4 and he still has white and burkhead out of the backfield.

He has plenty of weapons he just folds and whines when he gets pressured.

At this point he is hurting the team. Put in an QB with average play and they win the last 3 games

He has 6 rings, more money than God, and a hot wife. So no, I am not "worried" about Tom Brady.

He definitely is looking his age this year. His receiver situation is bad but he has dealt with less than great receiving corps before and made it work. Not sure he can do that anymore.

I guess Josh Gordon is already washed up if he was released in favor of what the Pats have out there now (he hasn't done anything with Seattle either so maybe he just isn't good enough). If the Pats win the Super Bowl this year I don't know what to say. Their roster really isn't that good. A weak division helps once again but I don't think they can get it done with this group in the playoffs. Of course I've thought that before.

Whereas he is getting older, the bigger problem is that Belichick is not doing well on offensive recruitment. Gronk's retirement was a BIG deal. It cannot just be Brady to Edelman with a sprinkling of Sony Michel.

It was like watching Ali vs Larry Holmes again. He no longer has a fastball.

He's done as an elite QB, but he also has one of the worst group of skill players and a massively regressed offensive line. The throwing windows are just not there. If you gave him a Michael Thomas, Cook, and Kamara he'd be putting up damn good numbers.

This is laughable. Sanu has brought almost nothing to the table, and has zero speed anymore.

Dorsett is a deep threat and quality 3

Dorsett is a horrendous deep threat, and was a mediocre #4 for most of his career with the Pats.

quote:

Harry is solid 4

Harry is literally running incorrect routes and is obviously having a hard time picking up the offense. He's a rookie, so it'll change, but as is only Edelman would be of any sort of impact on a dynamic WR core.

Also, Burkhead? Really?

Why can't that top notch 2 get open in NE always in single coverage?

Dorsett is a deep threat and quality 3
He's averaging 25 catches for his career under 13 YPC, quality 3/deep threat?

Harry is solid 4
Oh?

It's two fold... it's a patchwork OL, so they can't lean on the run game like they did last year and his WR's outside of Edelman are constantly not where they are supposed to be. The Patriot's system seems predicated on precision for their WRs and the current group is not getting it done. Brady isn't playing lights out, but it looks to me like its mostly other factors.
