All those saying flex schedule....CBS and FOX have to play ball. They're not going to give up all their prime games for ESPN and NBC later in the year.

This has been my attitude with the NFL in general lately. It just seems so much more boring than it used to be. Between all the roughness penalties and starting the ball on the 20 every freaking kick off, it has lost some of it's appeal, IMO.

I've always enjoyed college more anyways.. but I think you have a point. these passing rule candy arse changes are actually making the league worse.

True about fox and CBS, but you only get regional games to begin with on those networks. I'm sure it would be a cheap buy

it will always be better than sunday night football... there's something special about the saints on monday night at the dome (super or georgia) with mike tirico commentating. maybe it was because of '06 or '09

All the "good" games went to SNF. It's just a B rate game on a Monday now. The NFL makes too much money parcing out the games like they do to kill it.

SNF is so much better, and it's not really close. My biggest issue with MNF (besides the matchups) is that gets too overdramatized. They (ESPN) keep trying to push it like it's some event, when really it no longer has that effect.

SNF > MNF

it's the last game of the weekend, with a day to hype it and a night to itself

SNF is the last of 12-15 games on any given sunday, gets ignored on the morning shows and forgotten on the postgame sportscenter

I like it when they have a good game. The problem is they only have a good game 3 or 4 times a year.

This year on Monday Night Football, there are games involving the Dolphins (2), Broncos, Rams (2), Colts, Jaguars (2), Chiefs (2), Vikings, and Seahawks.

The Sunday night schedule is 10000000000000x better.

Arrowhead Stadium on Halloween Night between the Chiefs vs Charges will be good. It will be crazy loud considering the Chiefs have a chance at first place in the AFC West.

That's fricking awful, I remember when the Saints were sucking in the late 90s we were never on MNF, now it's like any team can be.

OP....whether they have been great or not doesn't matter to me. If it was on Sunday it's one less game I get to watch during the week. I like having another day to watch football

I guess you haven't looked at ratings for MNF. If you had the op would have never been typed out.

You can't flex a game from a Sunday to a Monday night, it would be impossible for anyone traveling to the game to make plans.

It's the pecking order the NFL has with all the networks. When MNF was on ABC, ABC paid a shite ton for a "prime time" match-up. They also paid to rotate on the Super Bowl coverage. ESPN showed some shitty Sunday night game during that time too.

In the last contract, NBC outbid ABC for the premiere game of the week and are in the Super Bowl rotation.

ABC was left with the shitty game that decided to romance as MNF.

It's funny how they have players saying how excited they are to be on MNF and they are playing in Jacksonville.. wtf.

That's because MNF was the marquee matchup back then, whereas SNF is now the marquee matchup. Been that way since they moved SNF to NBC.

That happened, what, 6 years ago? And this thread has popped up a few times per season every season for the last, what, 6 years now? Hmmm...
