At least 4 of his INT's have been tipped balls by his WR's and one was a strip after his receiver took 4 steps last week

Happens to every QB in the nfl.

Brees had 1 last week, 2 of Colston's hands, and another one where the receiver wasn't paying attention (colston again)

Either way, it isn't completely fair to place all of the blame on Cam for the high INT rate because his receivers aren't helping him very much.

We're talking about MVP. I've given him his credit

What are you using for advanced stats now that PFF has shite the bed?

I don't know what you mean by this...

I've always been a huge fan of football outsiders and advanved stats

Do you have an argument to make?

ProFootballFocus no longer offers their premium stats to the public. I thought you used those a bunch. Must have been someone else.

I do use them, and they'll offer it through the end of the year. Blocked at work doe

Football outsiders is good because they adjust for SoS and have drive stats

I've watched 3 Carolina games this season. You continue to make excuses for his mediocre stats. We get it you like Cam. He went to Auburn and won a national championship. If he would've done that for UGA id probably suck his dick too. But he still is mediocre. A good player, not great. Not a single stat suggest he should be in the MVP conversation. Not one. You can attack me saying I don't understand football all you want if that makes you feel better, that doesn't change the fact his numbers aren't good enough to be MVP or even top 5 really.

Give me legitimate reasons why I should believe he is an MVP candidate,

He's winning games with Ted Ginn as his best WR

Yes, but my point is that his receivers aren't very good. Cam throws a lot of high balls but I've watched every game and many times his WR's just aren't making the play. They drop a lot of catchable balls which hurts his completion percentage and tip balls in the air/lose possession leading to higher interception numbers for Cam, which shouldn't be considered his fault if he wasn't the one in error in the first place.

You said he is mediocre and then in the next sentence say he is good, not great.

I think you need a little more consistency in your stance, because those words do not mean the same thing.

My fandom is being called into question because I think someone should be in the MVP race?

Even with Brady playing like he is, people are still nominating Cam?

x100

There's playing well vs MVP, Brady being the latter and Cam being the former.

It's like anyone who thought Chad Pennington was gonna get the MVP over Manning in 2009. Good story, was a huge part in the Dolphins winning the AFC East, but couldn't beat out the star power and feats of Manning. And Manning had a bevy of weapons too, while Pennington just had Ronnie Brown(and coincidentally enough Tedd Ginn Jr).

Stats will come out on top, and Brady is cruising to it right now if he keeps this play up...

He's not an MVP candidate but he's a top 10 QB. His passing number aren't great but do you watch the Panthers play? His receivers are terrible. In the game the other night he had over 100+ yards of passes dropped and a dropped pass that ended up in an interception.

He throws the ball downfield A LOT so his completion percentage is never going to be like Tom Brady who throws tons of passes like 5 yards from the LOS.

His ability to keep plays alive and the threat of him running opens up the run game for Stewart and the other backs.

If the Panthers get in 3rd and 2-3 or less he's almost a guaranteed first down to keep drives alive.

As a passer Cam is mediocre, as a complete player he is one of the more valuable QBs in the league.

Yes. All you Cam nut lickers are the same.

Newton's numbers and game are not MVP worthy. Not even in the conversation.

Outside of Brady, you have Rodgers, Dalton, Brees, Palmer, Ryan and others are ahead of him just at the QB position.

If he were white, this is not a discussion at all by anybody. I haven't heard Dalton mentioned once as MVP and he is clearly playing better than Newton.

Now him being a redhead does hurt his cause.

Do you expect me to sit down every Sunday and be like time to watch some Panther football! Can't wait to watch Cam complete half of his passes and pretend like he's the best QB ever! Watching one Panther game is enough for any non Panther homer or Cam fan boy to know he isn't MVP worthy. Watching you few try to white night for Cam really is quite funny. The poster above me said it very well, as a passer he is mediocre but as a complete player he is good. I agree with that. If you gave him better receivers his stats would certainly be better. But he doesn't and they aren't soooo.... He needs to stop being mentioned in the same breath as the upper echelon QBs.

This is so true. If Andy Dalton had Cams stats people would want to bench him for McCarron.

You'd think his average would be higher then
