Then the argument becomes the size of the league compared to today but my biggest argument against today’s game is how much the game has changed regarding protection of the QB position. Tom Brady or any of today’s senior QB’s could not have extended their careers if yesterday’s rules were in play and anyone who says otherwise knows zero about the game 20-30 years ago period

If today's rules were in play 20-30 years ago, Joe Montana might've been able to extend his career like 5-7 years, maybe same with Roger Staubach they endured incredibly vicious hits/sacks

Brady is the GOAT QB.

It is really not even a discussion anymore.

The only people who dispute it are the ones who hate him.

I’m not the biggest fan and yes, he is already the GOAT. People that say no don’t follow football closely.

Brady is the greatest passing QB to ever play the game. It’s kinda obvious actually.

He’s not even the best of his generation in that regard

Most of these conversations are mired by the fact that people apply two completely different criteria for determining GOAT status: great passers and great winners.

Great passers: Manning, Elway, Marino, Favre
Great winners: Brady, Montana, Unitas, Graham

Ultimately, the Brady--Manning debate will not be resolved unless someone comes along who is both a great passer and a great winner.

Those have nothing to do with passing. The guy said best passing QB he’s not as good a passer as Manning or Rodgers.

So Brian Griese winning a title is added to Brady’s column as a winning QB?
If the refs on that final drive Wazzu had the ball not been incompetent who knows if Leaf wins it?

Passing is the skill a QB can control. Winning is a product of team. All the guys you listed below as winners were also good passers and the passers you listed won except Marino. Brady and Montana are 2 most mentioned as GOAT. Both played and won multiple SB with coaches considered the GOAT in their time and for stable organizations with owners that put winning first.
P Manning won with Dungy and Gary Kubiak he got to a SB with Jim Caldwell and John Fox

In the end it’s largely a “who’s the hottest model in the swimsuit issue?

Pretty sure passing had something to do with all those titles.

Secondly, Manning had a much better corps of receivers than Brady ever had. Does Manning deserve the credit of his receivers?

Yes, it is clear where you stand on the issue. One could argue, however, that the QB also controls winning more than any other single player on the field.

But not as good at passing as the great passers.

But not as much as the great winners.

See what I'm getting at here? You're just arguing with me for the sake of arguing, and that's kind of the point.

They couldn’t win if he couldn’t pass but winning is a product of team, so winning more doesn’t make you a better passer. Is Troy Aikman a top 4 passer? He’s 4 in SB wins.

This is grossly overrated. People say this because of Harrison and Wayne compared to NE WR at that time. But that’s a great example of the difference in the franchises. Indy put more in to skill positions, NE on D. And Brady had Moss and Gronk and Manning set record in Denver with who exactly?

How many Super Bowls and Super Bowl victories those subpar QBs lead their teams to? OH WAIT, ZERO!!!
This is a stupid point. They had only one opportunity and when they went 11-5 the Patriots didn't make the playoffs because of how good the AFC was that year.

Do you really believe that NE wouldn't have won as many Superbowls with Montana, Marino or Rodgers as QB? You don't know what you're talking about if you do.

No, it’s not a stupid point idiot, I’m pointing out how stupid it is for idiots to raise that point to minimize TB12 when he’s the one with rings and those others aren’t therefore he’s championship clutch GOAT boiiii also great from a stat standpoint as well

They could get blanked from here on out and dude is the GOAT without question. Anyone doubting needs to have their head examined. It's like Skip Bayless saying Nick Saban isn't the GOAT college football coach.

It's a stupid point. They didn't have the chance to play more than one season. Those QBs did nothing when they left NE. With the Patriots' system, they looked damn good, especially Matt Cassel.

You're actually making my point with your answer because TB12 has led teams to 8 SB appearances and 5 rings and those players within the Patriots system didn't even make the playoffs or do anything substantial to justify minimizing Tom. That all you got? You're really bad at arguing dude. GTFO hater
