re: Is Ben Roethlisberger a first ballot HOF?

Nope, there were stages of their careers when Ben was better than Rogers and Manning plus HOF isn’t a contemporary honor, it’s an alltime thing. He happened to play in the greatest era of QBs that’s not his fault but he still achieved more than most of them.

lol I’m sure you’ve got some specifically tailored version of elite created for one purpose.
Which he ain't

That’s incorrect, the definition and the characterization

Hardest muh fricker to finish a sack against. GOAT extending plays by just being hard to drag down

Unless the football HOF voters are even more of a bunch of pretentious arse-clowns than in baseball he should cruise in.

I think he is. And, a lot of points being made.
Now that we are comparing stats, it’s easier to understand why Knees Brees the Disgrace got so many yards and TDs in garbage time of losses. It looks good now.
And regarding SBs, are we gonna act like multiple HOF QBs, some over the hill, winning SBs only due to other great players (Terrell Davis, for example) and/or stout defenses didn’t happen?
Big Ben was a Beast for a very long time. We all witnessed it. The dude is a first ballot HOFer.

I feel like Ben , Eli, and Rivers should all go in the same HOF class. Not first ballots but all HOFers from that same draft class.

I do think Big Ben is a first ballot but don't think it'll happen. I don't think Rivers is a first ballot HOF and it won't happen.
I hear what you're saying but Big Ben had a flair about him when he escaped pressure that made it seem like he was trying to will his team to a victory. He was also tough as fricking nails.
Its not up to the QB but Philip Rivers only had 29 4th Quarter Comebacks (35 Game Winning Drives) while Big Ben had 41 Comebacks (53 Game Winning Drives). Their careers overlap completely minus Big Ben playing an extra year.
Big Ben did benefit from having much better coaching.

I hate giving importance to Super Bowls.
The stats for Ben and Philip Rivers are pretty much the same but one was a Steeler and the other a Charger. Just having watched them play for years I can't tell you for sure that one was better than the other.
It doesn't really make sense to put one in the Hall and not the other.

There's no way Drew Brees only has one All-Pro.
He really wasn't ever the best player due to his peers. Not his fault. Also All-Pro is voted on by the NFLPA while Offensive POTY is voted on by the media

Bit of trivia
He has the most 500 yard passing games in nfl history
Did not know that. I'd be inclined to put him in on the first ballot for that, given everything else. I don't think anyone every looked at him playing qb and thought "wow", but he has some stats.

Ben and Eli aren’t in the same category.
Eli won exactly 50% of his starts, completed 60.3% of his passes, had an 84 career qb rating. He had no real rushing stats. He was largely average but played on New York and has two rings.
Ben won 66% of his starts, completed 64% of his passes, a 93.5 career passing ratings, and basically had 3 times as many rushing yards, rushing tds, and rushing 1ds as Eli.
They are even close.
I think Ben is a first ballot HOFer. One of the hardest QBs to get off the field at the end of the game. Impossible to take down for a game clinching sack, could move the chains with legs, and throw through contact. In a sport where most games are one score games, he won at an absurd clip.

Eli spent half of his career with the NY media trying to run him out of town.
Including the regular season of the first SB year. Eli had a bad year and led the league with over 20 INTs. Usually teams with that many TOs don’t even make the playoffs.
Yet he’s given the most credit for that SB win instead of his defense who held the Patriots to their lowest point total and 2nd lowest YPP of the season. Meanwhile Eli wins MVP after almost throwing a pick on the game winning drive, deciding to throw it up into double coverage to his 3rd string WR which required a miracle catch, and leads his team to a paltry 17 points.
