Or any school in Ascension

other than the two private schools...

the big 3 don't have any players coming through 3 parishes to get there do they?

As for the claims that all of these "black" kids are getting their tuition paid for... I am a white kid that went to a private high school. My family paid about half the tuition, the other half was waved by the school based on our family's financial need.

It was not sport related - I was 5' 120lbs and slow. I tutored some of the football players that were also on need-based scholarships.

As for the "unfairness" of large schools always winning. Now you know how the Sunbelt or CUSA feels in college football. Should we break up the NCAA FCS into a "Select league" (SEC, PAC10, BIG10, BIG 12) and a "non-select league"? Would that non-select league championship mean as much?
No. Face it - sometimes you just can't compete.

I don't know anything. I just know that EA and STA always accuse Dutchtown of doing it. Even now. It sounds like a lot of it is butthurt.

it's good to be accused of cheating... it means you're winning

what I find comical.. is one school recently shouted at another one..

PLAY US IN FOOTBALL... .

the other school said..

U RECRUIT WE REGROUP...

yet other school is openly advertising free tuition.. and admitted to families sponsoring other kids.....

I paid $400.00 a month and thought I got a good deal. When I saw where my daughter was going to have to go it was a no brainer for me

Yes sir. U high is doing some serious recruiting recently.

I have close family that's had their kids on UHighs waiting list for years, but they never get the call for admission....they guess b/c their son doesn't run a 4.2, they won't admit him.

But that's a whole another subject.

Eta: I remember EHS offered my lil sister a minority scholarship to go there...lol

I'm not talking about U-High recruiting.

I'm talking about the claims that the other school, possibly Episcopal, had parents pay tuition for other kids at the school.

I missed whatever interview this was in.

Wouldn't that be a tax write off for the paying parent?

I'm trying to clarify if it was Episcopal or another school.

Could I get a straight "yes it was" /"no it was not" on that, pls?

I know for a fact the former freshman at Scotlandville who is now a star lineman at U-High was recruited.

But when one school can legally draw kids from a wide area and other schools have a limited area from which to draw, it's inherently unfair

I've said from the start theres an easy way to fix this. Dont want to send your kid to public school? They have to go to the nearest private school to your residence. If they want to drive from the Northshore to attend John Curtis, then they have to apply for and be granted a waiver to play athletics.

After all, its about education, right?

K, thx.

I knew there were minority scholarships while I was there, not necessarily athletics-related, but hadn't ever heard of that happening before.

Surprising to me they'd bring up something like that during a public interview.

so.. if they are giving minority scholarships to athletes - how is that not any different than what people are accusing uhigh, curtis and eca of doing?
