Olympic gold-medal-winning boxer Imane Khelif, who endured intense scrutiny about her gender throughout the Paris Games, has filed a formal legal complaint in which she says she was the victim of online abuse.

Welcome to sports.

Now I'm wondering if the balls are actually way too small.

Idk about a lawsuit, but it's pretty messed up that so many perpetuated the lie that she is a tranny or a man. She's a woman.

Given the demographic landscape in Europe, I can forgive his ignorance in this instance.

Fans have embraced Khelif in Paris even as she faced an extraordinary amount of scrutiny from world leaders, major celebrities and others who have questioned her eligibility or falsely claimed she was a man.

This individual has male genitalia and a male’s nature level of testosterone. He can call himself a woman all he wants and so can the Algerian government, but that doesn’t change his DNA and biology.

Seriously doubt that given she was assigned female at birth in one of the most regressive countries on the matter on earth (i.e. a Muslim one).

most likely born with a vagina, possibly with ambiguous genitalia but almost assuredly assigned female and raised as one.

I noticed that as the Olympics went on, fewer and fewer people were making an arse of themselves to defend this person.

Intersex people often don't start displaying attributes of one sex or another until they hit puberty. He was raised as a girl because he presented all of the qualities of a female. However, about the time he hit puberty is is when his true traits most likely began to manifest.

It’s a question of what defines “he.” I don’t believe XY automatically means you’re a man.

Assigned female, raised as one, may have been some secondary sex characteristic anomalies during development and all that but still is as a girl because that’s what she is. Society essentially chose for her.

We have a word for this. Cisgender.

No not really. Biology is far squishier than that.

People with XY genotypes but present female phenotypically have carried pregnancies to term. It’s not common but it has happened.

And have required artificial means to do so.

Intersex people are most certainly a trickier topic than trans. However, cases of intersex people with XY chromosomes carrying a child to term are EXTREMELY rare. It's almost on the level of pregnancies caused by rape/incest.

You sure 'bout that? Gonna have to see some proof unless it's some sort of rare arse chimerism where they had a few cells with XY. They are still XX.

By some of y'alls interpretations, my wife is a man every time I deposit some DNA in her.
