Today the preacher at my church mentioned that he is friends with Sonny Dykes and Sonny got him to talk to the team on Friday night. I had a good laugh with him after church when I shook his hand and said “what you said must have worked because they won on a Hail Mary.”

During the Tech SMU broadcast, it was interesting to hear the story of Dykes and Holtz discussing the LaTech job.

Made me believe the two guys may be decent people. Also, Sonny had nothing but positives to say about Tech - which I thought was odd.

Came away impressed with Sonny and Skip - cbssn did a good job.

Shockingly, LaTech as a very solid and decent sized core fan base.

They’re like UL. They have a large fan base IRL & online but when you watch a home game on TV, it’s not even halfway full.

There’s a difference here. UL & Tech’s stadiums always look the same way. They don’t fill up for certain games the way LSU does.

I think the problem for a lot of the mid tier programs is the games you would see a packed house for get picked up by the networks and flexed to a noon kickoff or weeknight game.
Just like around tiger stadium it's hard to get butts from the tailgate to the stadium when it's 90° at kickoff.

This tells me you weren’t a Tigah fan till Saban was hired as HC. Death Valley’s attendance looked like a mall teenybopper concert prior to Saban’s arrival. Despite being on the state government’s tit for decades.

They had 15,328 and 15,326 for their first two home games. One against SLU and the 2nd against SMU.

Their base is 15,000 folks.

Man, that’s some monster math right there! Maybe one day Tech can play host to MAC powerhouse THE Ohio on a Thursday night in front of DOZENS of fans! Maybe one day…sigh

I mean I get it, LaTech wouldn’t know what 17,700 fans look like. Especially the day after a hurricane, albeit a weak one. But still our 17,700 fans showed up on a midweek ESPN game to watch the Cajuns destroy Ohio.

I guess the 2 fans y’all lost from the Southeastern game were able to find the LaTech game on your spectacular tv deal. Or streamed it on nobodygivesafrick.tv

Bruh… you can’t count UL-Laf undergrad enrollment as butts in the seats.

And yet La Tech owns the Cajuns on the football field when they play - how many W's do they have in row over the mighty Cajuns now?

LaTech is the better school and has the better football program than ULL

Why are so many LSU fans, whose program has no real in-state athletic challenger due to their resources, obsessed with the other programs in the state? It’s like some of y’all are on the edge of your seat wanting to be able to say something about LA Tech, Cajuns or Tulane.

Agreed, I never understood the hate. I root for all state schools to do well

17,700>15,326 every day. Midweek vs Saturday.
SMU is just over 3 hours from LaTech. Ohio is in a completely different time zone.

2 sorry showing by LaTech’s fans. Let’s see if y’all can break 16,000 against UNT this weekend. I have my doubts.

Yea, LaTech has dominated the Cajuns the last several meetings. Doesn’t change what’s actually happening today.

LaTech was scared to play the Cajuns last year. The only thing LaTech is good at Kearney is pissing games away and ducking ULM and Louisiana.

LMFAO at LTU wanting ‘national exposure.’ No one was watching your game on FB live Saturday but in the end you sure got a lot of ‘national exposure’ with yet another spectacular frick-up 4Q loss. Congrats on getting your wish.

But hey….at least skippy made sure y’all competed again.

Last I checked, we scheduled a game with ULM last year and they cancelled on us.
