Where would you want him to play? Obviously it’s his choice but I’d rather see him compete for a title at a place like North Dakota state than play in a small fbs conference

Whichever one can get me a no show job for low 6 figures. I’m not greedy.

Depends which Sun Belt schools. If App St offered him I’d say go there. If it’s between ULM and NDSU, NDSU all the way.

I know they win, but is North Dakota worth spending your college years there?

The same could be asked of most of the cities that are home to Sunbelt schools.

app state

Texas State might suck at football but if you like dumb latinas than there is no better place to go school

What does your son want to do? Join a stacked FCS team to win a championship?

Or play for a good SBC team in a conference with a chance to win the conference, get some bowl swag, and possibly knock off a few P5 schools during his playing career?

What's gonna sound cooler to him when he's older?

1. I won a national championship at NDSU
2. We won a conference championship, knocked off ____ during bowl season, and I played on the team that beat [P5 Team] at their house

Both are fine, but it boils down to what's important for your son.

North Dakota is fricking miserable weather-wise and you’re in the middle of nowhere with little to do.

I agree but that describes a ton of schools. There are a lot of people who would say there's nothing to do in Baton Rouge or Gainsville or College Station or State College, and they'd all be right.

The weather can certainly be a factor but in north dakota you can do all the cold weather activities people love all winter and the summer is going to be much more mild than in the south. Different strokes for different folks of course

If he goes to TX State tell him to wrap it up. I can’t believe I don’t have 3 kids in San Marcos.

A better question would be CUSA vs NDSU. Sun Belt has had 3 different teams ranked in the last two years and several 10-win schools.

Call me Captain Obvious but it depends on the person. People prioritize things differently. I could never live where it's super cold, so I would stick with most of the Sun Belt schools but many people don't care about weather as much.

No need to apologize, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Even if they're not good ones.

Guess I’ll just have to stay inside and “watch movies” with college chicks. Miserable.

Coastal Carolina seems like a fun place to play right now. Exciting young coach plus you get to play putt putt in Myrtle Beach.

Unless you consider Gatlinburg good skiing, Fargo is a long way from legit ski destinations. It's flat as shite in the majority of North Dakota. It's just a cold desolate wasteland in that part of the country, which is why it's such a sparsely populated part of the country. Fargo is in the flat eastern part of the state a long way from the mountains. I guess if you're into ice fishing and hockey, then sure.

There are quite a few decent places in the Sunbelt that I'd much prefer to spend 4 years than North Dakota. I also couldn't imagine it being that cold for that much of the year.
