If we had an 8 team playoff, these would be your games right now

Bama vs ND
LSU vs PSU
Clemson vs Wisc
OSU vs Oklahoma
What a great slate of games. I'm in favor of 8 teams. This year will prove it needs to change. It's early yet, but this is the first year where there's at least 6 quality teams and no clear cut 'best' team
Clemson vs Wisc and OSU vs Oklahoma would be great games right off the bat

If we had 8 team playoffs, the #1 and 2 team might play their backups the final game and still get in.

It's not a guarantee, and the committee would probably purposely vote them out if they disrespected the process like that, so I seriously doubt they would.

Have the first round be hosted at the home stadiums of the higher seeded teams.
This makes it incentive for #1 and #2 to not do this as it risks them dropping out of the top 4 and losing a home game.

6 teams also gives a reward for finishing 1 or 2.

It would still end up being Clemson Bama LSU and OU which IMO are the best 4 teams

It better involve automatic qualifiers for conference champions. This nonsense of a committee or computers picking the playoff participants needs to stop if it expands beyond 4.
The FBS is the only division of college sports that has a wack-arse system where a team that does not win their conference can get into a playoff/tournament for a National Title over teams that did.
Like it or not, the FBS needs to get on board and start giving conference champions from the P5 autobids, and a bid to the highest ranked G5 Conference Champ. Then pick the highest ranked teams after that for the final 2 spots.

You guys just want to destroy what makes CFB great. Four teams is more than enough. The further you expand it, the less meaningful the regular season becomes. Watch the NFL if you want meaningless games till the end of the season. The reason CFB is easily the best regular season in sports is because you know every game absolutely matters.

So one of the biggest Big10 Haters puts 3 Big Ten Teams in a Playoff of 8 and calls it a "great slate of games"
