Do they expand? If so, who do they add? Do they try to get to 16?

Not having a championship game in this day and age is idiotic.

They'll have a championship game starting next year or the year after most likely.

What teams are decent enough that adding them helps? Someone will always be left out with 5 power conferences + ND

I've been hearing that Cincinnati is a viable option. I'm not sure who the 12th team would be thou.

BYU and Houston would make a lot of sense.

Big 12 West

Baylor
BYU
Houston
TCU
Texas
Texas Tech

Big 12 East

Iowa State
Kansas
Kansas State
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State
West Virginia

I doubt they add anybody. The NCAA will allow the BIGXII to have a game with only 10 teams.

Dude, just stop. The NCAA isn't going to allow them that special treatment. The other conferences will raise hell

Should go to six.

I think Pac 12 is most competitive conference. Kinda lame that they are essentially eliminated

Whose fault is that? That is why you play the game.

Exactly. They miss out on the first year of the playoff and people think the Big XII is screwing themselves.

Any potential additions won't necessarily add to the overall strength of the conference and a title game just gives a playoff contender a final opportunity to be upset. If their top teams would schedule better OOC, this conversation wouldn't be needed. Knee-jerk expansion at this point is silly.

Oklahoma State has Baylor and Oklahoma left to finish the season. If they win those two games finishing at 12-0 with wins over TCU, Oklahoma, and Baylor how could the Big XII be left out?

That being said, the conference should add BYU and Air Force/Cincinnati/Nebraska and be done with it.

indeed, Big12 was very, very close to having two teams in the playoff last year until the Ohio State late season surge.

if Wisconsin wins that game, Baylor and TCU are likely both in.

Lol wtf
Only Baylor (and K state for the longest time until they played Auburn) has shite opponents.
OU has had FSU, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Ohio State next year
Texas had Notre Dame, Cal and BYU. All respectable this year
Oklahoma State played Florida State last year
TCU has Arkansas and Ohio State on their schedule

Just to name a few.

I just don't see how they don't push to pick up two schools if they get left out again. Really doesn't matter though because the conference is falling apart when the GOR is up

Champ game is currently not allowed if conference has less than 12 teams. Word is that rule will be changed after this season.
