If TCU loses, is it more likely they move Michigan to 1 or keep TCU at 3?

I feel like the playoff wants to avoid rematches at all cost for the semifinals, especially for a game that just happened at the end of the regular season.

I feel like they want to avoid
1 - UGA vs 4 - TCU
2 - Mich vs 3 - OSU

The main reason I ask this is because there’s an advantage to being 1 where you pick your playoff location and obviously Georgia would want to pick Atlanta.

All this is assuming Georgia and Michigan win (which isn’t guaranteed) but was curious as to the board’s thoughts.

If Georgia squeaks by and Michigan dominates, Michigan to 1

If both look the same in their wins (close or blowouts) keep TCU at 3

That’s what I think as well. I’d love for it to be Georgia vs TCU but I don’t think there’s any way the committee lets that happen.

There wouldn’t really be a discussion between 12-1 TCU vs 11-2 USC or 10-2 Bama

That just makes no sense to me. You’re penalizing a 0 loss regular season team for a 2 loss regular season team because those teams didn’t qualify for their conference championship?

If you have the same number of losses I get the argument. In this case, makes zero sense.

Conference title games can clinch a spot for you or cost you a spot. auburn 2017, Wisky (I think 2018) both lost spots by losing and OSU 2014, Clemson 2020 got in because they won

They aren’t taking a 10-2 team over a 12-1 team

Vegas finally took it off the board last night. TCU had gotten to -1400 to make the playoffs. It’s over and it’s weird people are trying to act like it isn’t

TCU is a lock now with usc losing
There was an outside, they would be left out for ohio st if they lost in embarrassing fashion. But now it doesn't matter

I’m tempted to upvote you because I agree with you, but I’m tempted to downvote you because I don’t like what you’re saying.

If TCU loses decisively they are not in the playoffs.

UGA
Mich
TCU

Those three are in no matter what - unless TCU loses by like 40.

Ohio State is 5 now

This is not rocket science

How much would you like to wager? TCU was -1400 to make the playoffs and the line was climbing to high they took it off the board last night. It’s over man they are guaranteed in the playoffs

This is all about tv ratings…
Sad to say but what espn wants is
UGA
Michigan
Bama
OSU

That way
There is no semi final rematch.

UW had a weak arse schedule in 2017 and they weren't jumped by a 2 loss team into the top 4.

If UW was sitting in the same spot as TCU this year they wouldn't fall out either with a loss in the CCG.

This year is odd due to the lack of one loss teams. If Bama had only one loss they'd be in if TCU were to lose.

This is so obvious yet people are doing the craziest mental gymnastics to make it seem like it isn’t
