If mahomes went back to college, what would be the worst program he could win the CFP?

Full spring and off-season to work with WRs

Realistic transfers, not every 5 star moving there to play with him

Same coaching staff that is currently there.

I say App State

If the defense sucks and everyone else sucks then probably not

Pat loves to throw on the run. Louisiana Tech’s offensive line loves forcing the quarterback to throw on the run.

Match made in heaven

Who goes further...

Pat Mahomes on the worst team

Or

Reggie Ball on the best team

Whew, I’d like to think you’d be pretty much unstoppable on offense if we are talking current Mahomes and power 5 talent. Coaching and defensive ability would be an issue with lesser teams, but if the criteria is just making the CFP, then the Group of 5 teams could be wide open to finish the year undefeated and have a shot. I think we can obviously scratch the service academies off since he wouldn’t make a huge difference in an option offense

Pair him up with Deion Sanders. Should work out very well.

Every 5 star would move there to play with him though

On second thought, the transfer portal would light up

Could he win at Iowa or Wisconsin? I say no

What about Cincinnati in 2021? Their defense led by Sauce was legit and they had a few NFL guys on offense

i think you got to go way lower

he is going to elevate the offense so much. Any NFL QB would be able to sniff out even the best college schemes pre-snap.

2019 had an elite OL, elite WR, decent RB, and some good individual players on defense.

But does Iowa stop OSU enough? They gave up like 60 points to them last year (some was because Iowa’s offense was so bad)

Elite defenses really don’t stop elite offenses anymore

He'd only have to manufacture 24 points a game to win every game, so yes.

Yeah, but the talent around him might not be able to do the same thing and they still have to have enough talent to beat great teams.
