The roster is not virtually the same as it was last year.
The Colts had A LOT of turnover, which would actually make Luck's accomplishments a bit better because it's a lot of players who haven't played together...

IMHO jr's pocket presence sucked and he was able to overcome his lack of football smarts with his arm in college, but obviously couldnt do that in the nfl.

that has nothing to do with it
he failed in the NFL b/c he was a lazy piece of crap once he got paid. he got fat. he didn't put in work in the film room. all that shite. that's why he hasn't gotten a 2nd chance

quote:You said he wasn't the best QB in CFB that year and he was inaccurate. Both completely wrong. All the while saying "Yeah, I totally knew he would be a bust because he wasn't talented," while the guys who evaluate talent for a living said they had never seen a QB workout as good as JR's.
What have I said that was inaccurate? Hell, I even challenged people to look up his highlights and see what I'm talking about.
Then you follow that up by saying you don't understand the Luck hype when he's having the best rookie season by a QB possibly ever.
You have to be trolling.

yeah, he had some decent games in the NFL. If that dude cared AT ALL about game plan and preparation he would've been good.

I know that, after looking into it. You didn't catch me deleting the second part of my post from earlier.

Seriously if JR goes anywhere, but that dumpster fire in oakland he might have become something as an NFL QB. I am not saying superstar, but a solid QB.
Kiffin was his first NFL coach. I mean it was a horrible situation.

"Troy Smith, another qb, swept the Heisman and all the All-American awards."
This is mostly true but Smith was a marginal pro prospect and was drafted in the lower rounds. Also, Russell won the Manning Award which is given to the nation's top QB.
I think Russell would have gone after Luck and Griffin and like I said back then, that would have been too high. Russell struck me as a talented player with a 30% or so bust factor. I figured him as a third rounder but fully supported him leaving when the pros fell in love with him. Someone wants to pick you that high, I say you go. Doesn't mean they're right but your stock can't climb any higher.

"he didn't fumble on some strips that still blow my mind."
This is the truth. He was so big and strong that he was sometimes able to absorb blows that would have had the ball flying out from most QB's. Now, he did not sense pressure well and did not protect the ball well in terms of technique but good grief could he take a shot.

there were a few times weakside DEs/LBs came in on the rush and swatted his arm (which was down and the ball was below his waist...being held by 1 hand) and it didn't come out
that just led to all sorts of bad technique

Freaking amazing. And there were also plays where a guy would hit him with basically a clean shot - just show of a blow up shot - and JR would cock his arm and thrown the ball downfield, often for a completion, with a guy either draped on him or after then guy bounced off him. I think the NFL guys fell too much in love with this Paul Bunyan stuff, but you could easily see why.
