I’ve never seen any basketball player get guarded the way they try to guard Clark. They pick her up very aggressively the full court, face guard her every where trying to deny the ball and are very physical knowing the refs won’t call everything. Clark will get hurt again soon enough at this pace and they will be back to where they started and irrelevant again, but at least they won’t be jealous of her anymor

Fouls are getting called on players defending her, particularly flagrant fouls.

quote:

Before diving into how I did the analysis, some quick stats:

There were 35 flagrant fouls called this year in the WNBA

34 if you exclude Diana Taurasi’s later-removed call. Values in parentheses represent percentages without this flagrant. Example: 34/35 and 34/34 reported as 97% (100%)

Players fouling Caitlin Clark accounted for 17.1% (17.6%) of all flagrants this year

11.4% (11.8%) of all flagrant fouls were Chicago Sky players fouling Caitlin Clark

Analysis of Flagrant Fouls in WNBA - Substack

But women's basketball has always been more physical. And there's absolutely no doubt the Chicago Sky players are head hunting her arse at this point.

I think some of it is malicious. But I think some of it is they can't defend her so they resort to fouling her as hard and often as possible.

But does anyone else not feel sorry for her after the Times Magazine article?

You mean this quote in the article?

quote:

I want to say I've earned every single thing, but as a white person, there is privilege.

It’s like people all of a sudden forgot about the Jordan rules, or how Shaq and LeBron sometimes have to be destroyed in order to get a foul call.

If someone defended Cait like Ant was in this game we'd have 10 threads crying about it

The girl that poked Clark in the eye pushed herself onto Clark afterwards. Clark then reacted by pushing her off. Guess you just chose to miss that part.

I’m all for physical play, but the fact that this “league” seems indifferent to eye gouging is wild. If it was an isolated event it would be one thing but I can think of at least 3 or 4 blatant examples of players targeting her eyes.

I see you’re still running from me lol. This is the 12th time I’ve asked. Why are you so scared to provide your list?

Wheres your list? For reference in case you forgot. Are you claiming that what I posted below is inaccurate, and I have incorrect info? If I watched the games, would I come to the conclusion that these facts below are false?

Sheldon went to Ohio State. There's some history there.

She did get in her face although never made contact as you suggested.

Clark is a whiner. Always has been. Thinks she's privileged and should be treated differently than the rest of the league.

It's definitely a turn off.

I can see it too, I can see The Fabulous Moolah beating Clark's arse in 2 out of 3 Falls with a 10 Minute Time Limit

O.K. Here's the best video I've found of the whole incident.

It does look like the defender (Sheldon) chested her up after what was obviously an accidental poke in Clark's face.

Clark acts like she's been shot with a rifle, then gets knocked down and goes to her bench and laughs about the whole thing.

After the 3rd or 4th time happening to the same player, it’s not accidental. Sorry you are a trash fan of trash basketball.. and her reacting is pretty normal for getting jabbed in the eye.

I see the cries of racism against Clark haven't been used when it's white girls doing the roughing up.

The best part is the same people love to talk about how great the NBA was when dudes were unatheltic and literally fist fighting as defense

She 100% continued onto Clark after the foul was called. These women are so jealous, it is funny.

If you think that was accidental, I have some oceanfront property here in Kentucky to sell you.
