For that to happen we would need an exponentially better training and development system more than we would need LeBron deciding to play soccer though.
That would be ridiculously easy to do. It isn’t a secret, there just isn’t a want. In the hypothetical America craved to be the best in soccer and that was the desire of the population as our most popular sport our training system would be by far the best in the world

Not being rude but are y’all retarded?

Do you actually think this would be remotely difficult to setup if there was a want?

You don’t have to take my word for it. Cross the Atlantic and be laughed out of a pub yourself

If you have a crush on me though we can take it elsewhere

Fastest guy, sure. He also was a halfass soccer player with terr8ble Jamaican development. Pretty hard to say what he coukd hqve been.

It isnt just the Lebrons for this argument. It is the huge numbers of Julian Edelmans and Puka Nakuas we have in the US.

In any nation on earth if you had a LeBron prototype playing soccer he’d be trained as a center back, striker, or keeper. He wouldn’t be asked to cut on a dime. He would excel at aerial duals and hopefully a supercharged Haaland who likely runs even less if his skills translated. They wouldn’t waste him running 5-6 miles a match. He’d also likely be 215 lbs tops.

It would be interesting to see.

Yes, or we'd have done it. Do the retards like you get tired of making this same lame arse argument every four years? It's a terrible look.

Let’s forget about who our best player argument would be. The key is who our average player would be. If soccer was our number 1 sport guys like Tim team would be 1,000 in our ranks(, not starting in two world cups. That’s where the difference is really made

Kris Richards is from Birmingham. Do we not think that in his cohort of guys who went on to play college football out of Birmingham there would not be someone as good or better?

We. Don’t. Care, enough. To. Do. It

This is a hypothetical that America became hyper obsessed with soccer like other nations. If that happened we would absolutely spend the money and effort to setup a system similar to the other world elites. The fact you truly don’t beleive that is mind numbing to me honestly

Soccer is the most lucrative sport in the world and the world's biggest sport. We are one of the largest countries in the world. We also have a shite ton of foreigners from countries where soccer is the biggest sport and have a history of dominating soccer.

Yet we can't produce a world cup?

You are talking about potentially billions in investment with little to no return as the elite players in this lifetime aren’t going to spend their primes in MLS

People with that kind of money don’t set a billion on fire.

If it was so mindnumbingly easy, we would be further along already. Enough people have cared for long enough. Strick to tennis, this take is a bad look for you.

His statement was ridiculous

Imagine if the MLS had the popularity of the NFL. That’s the argument here. Soccer and the MLS became the nfl. 100,000 plus stadiums filled every week, etc etc

The training would easily be put in place. It’s not a secret what it takes. We just don’t have nearly the want for it currently.

If we had 11 LeBron's out there we would win every single game 8-0 it would be a total wipe out.

Correct, because we are fundamentally broken when it comes to technical development. It's a problem that will take decades to catch up to the better countries if/when we decide to tackle it for real.

Tell us lnch, what magical secret do all these other countries have we don’t?

You say it has nothing to do with us wanting it, it’s just we can’t figure it out. Why?

You can’t just turn it on like a faucet. It’s ingrained in culture and Europe is littered with the best coaches at the best academies.
