You do when you have dipshit refs protecting the only team worth a shite in your league IMO

The other defender launched into the QB as well.

The defender fell down

Refs thought he was tackled

But, it is my understanding you *can* tackle a defender as long as you are still engaged with him and he’s still in front of you. That defender was never behind the lineman

They could have called roughing on both Hail Mary attempts, that one was a launch with body weight and the next one was a late hard shot

You should have saw the missed holding call on Miami's late TD. It was blatantly obvious the refs were told to protect Miami

There is no interpretation of the rule in which it is acceptable to apply it there.

The rules of football are whatever the refs decide in that moment.

I haven't seen an angle showing this so just pure speculation on my part, but the way the defender fell I think the O-Line may have grabbed his shoulder pads and pulled him down - which is holding.

By the letter of the rule yes but the ref who threw that will have to answer for applying it in that situation. Not that it’s any consolation for FSU.

Not to the public obviously but believe it or not they do get evaluated and penalties do get discussed.
