Exactly. Now imagine a whole league with QB play 10x worse.

So that means you watch no college football at all? Because very few college quarterbacks are elite at the NFL level. Basically all college quarterbacks are dog shite with your logic.

You don't understand how college football is much different than what you saw this weekend in the XFL?

I dont exactly think that guys like Jalen Hurts or Justin Fields are great pro prospects, but they know how to build out a system around them that makes it fun and exciting to watch .

I feel like the xfl should've started during after nba finals during that summer lull of nothing but baseball and gone into the very beginning of football season. I'm sure there were good reasons why they choose this time frame but they are going to have trouble competing with college basketball for sure

Outdoor football in Houston and Dallas in July is a hard no-go. They aren't trying to kill the players.

I would have focused on markets that are either huge
(NY, LA, Chicago, etc...
or that currently don't have an NFL franchise: San Diego, Oklahoma City, Orlando, San Antonio, Portland, (soon to be Oakland) etc.

With proper management and a solid TV contract...the XFL could be around for awhile.

Except for the ticket sales, TV deals, financials, etc. But yea other than those minor things, completely the same
I wasn't talking about financials, I was only speaking to the interest level specifically on the MSB in week 1 compared to the interest level specifically on the MSB in week 1 of the AAF.

By the time the AAF was set to fold, interest on this board had already dried up, and it had nothing to do with financials or anything like that. The novelty simply wore off.

sorta like what they did for us, but one could probably argue that they chose us because they knew it was guaranteed tickets

I think taking into account the number of actual people in the stands is a better barometer of interest than just what gets posted here.

Obviously it will be interesting to watch how that trends going forward, but they're off to a much better start than the AAF.

The NFL is king and will remain that way. The XFL is going to need some identifiable names ultimately. I still think that it like the AAF are starting too early. The USFL when it started off began in March and ended in the 4rd week of June IIRC

USFL suffered because of Trump. The guy in Tampa Bay was the brains along with Dave Dixon

Doesn't appear to be that way. Ifthei twrnet so to be believed, XFL week 1 outsold the entire existence of the AAF.

Unfortunately he died.
I think had he lived the USFL certainly would have lasted longer.
(and that's just from what I read in the book)

The XFL kickoff game got a 3.3 million viewer average compared to the AAF's 2.9 mil. It's not a bad debut by any means, but like with the AAF, a lot is about sustaining things.

If the XFL keeps tv and attendance numbers the same (there were about 17k at each game) it has a chance at getting a foothold.

ESPN game on Sunday drew 2.5 million. Those numbers are going to drop even further as the season goes on.
