I would much rather celebrate a guy that wasnt involved with a double murder!

There are plenty of those out there.

I don't really have anything against Ray Ray. From what I have always believed, he was either involved in or near the fight where two men were killed. However, he was not the one with a knife and did not stab or kill anyone. Yes, he told a lie to police originally to try to cover for his buddies. He then later recanted that lie and came clean in a plea deal. He was never going to be found guilty of what he was charged with, which was murder, because he didn't have a knife and didn't stab and kill anyone.

So, yes, he tried to cover for a buddy. Who knows what started the fight though or how serious it was. His limo was shot up when they drove off though.

IMO Lewis lied to police to protect a buddy or tow buddies who stabbed 2 men in a fight. He did a year in jail among various other punishments and has done a lot of good since without every being in the slightest hint of trouble.

So, while not a role model, Lewis is not someone I despise or have strong feelings against. I just respect his play as the best MLB in NFL history.

No one is saying you can't. I will though and I don't feel bad for doing it

I hate Ray Ray because he's a self-promoting bag of wind that has been overrated by the sports media because ol' Ray Ray never met a microphone or camera he didnt like.

I disagree. Lewis has been in the league a very long time and is older and beat down to an extent now. 10-12 years ago in his prime, he was possibly the greatest MLB to ever buckle a chin strap and step on the field.

So you're saying you have no clue what happened?

I remember the whole trial and know why he got off.

Everyone involved said Lewis was involved.

you obviously don't remember the trial then

most everybody, if not everybody, said lewis tried to break it up

there is a reason why lewis testified AGAINST 2 of his co-defendants and THEY WERE STILL FOUND NOT GUILTY

You serious? He's been one of the best defensive players in the NFL for 16 years! He's been playing football for 30 straight years and starting on a potential Super Bowl team at age 37. The typical 37 year old former NFL linebacker is 50 pounds overweight and having trouble walking and remembering what he ate for breakfast.

Thanks for copying from Wikipedia. It's much easier to take you seriously when you've clearly done your homework.

Sounds like you were in that limo, considering you know who stabbed those 2 dudes.

Yeah, technically against, but he was their best friend while on the stand.

The were found "not guilty" but hardly innocent in the least.

OJ was indeed a murderer as are others who got away w/ murder.

Your a jackass! It was proven in court to be self defense... He's one of the most inspirational and dominating players of all time. First ballot hall of famer, and prolly one of the best ever at his position. He made every one who played with him substantially better. How could you not root for a class act guy like ray? That's just dumb

Has everyone just forgotten what happened all those years ago? I mean....he was involved in some way with a man being dead but now......he is the "good guy" of the NFL??? I am sorry......but I cant pull for this guy and to see him celebrated is not right.

Let's pretend he did kill someone. I can almost 100% guarantee you the world is actually a better place because of it if he did because the dude he killed was a thug POS. If he hadn't killed him that dude probably would have gun on to harm innocent people. Ray is a hero and a crime fighter who then goes on and becomes a model citizen and works with kids.....how can you not pull for him?
