Yes the BRCC coach is gone after two very bad seasons. I think his record was something like 10-80.They are a terribly coached team with a few guys who can play pretty good ball. Let’s hope they can get the right guy in there this time. I’m not optimistic. It’s gonna be tough

I personally don’t think it’s possible. The school doesn’t have a way to provide any resources, they play in a dump, although I do respect the people who have tried to keep Goldsby presentable.
Local kids with any talent would rather get out of dodge and go to Mississippi jucos than say they go to BRCC.
You would need to be able to build a locker room, weight room, indoor training facility, and a recovery center just to even have a chance to get semi decent players to sign up.

Crazy stuff here. They are letting the same AD hire the next coach. He hired the current guy who was 10 and 80. Bill Dailey, who lives in Ascension Parish, would love the job and would do well, but the AD says he has not coached in years and will not hire him. Lame excuse! Bill has gotten endorsements from Coach Bertman, Ryan Theriot and others for the position. Bill could change the culture there with his ideas and love of the game.

I thought Bill Dailey was going to be hired the last time. I heard that he really wanted it. That is unfortunate. Sometimes you need a local guy that has the best interest of the local program.
My son currently goes to a Juco where they hired the local high school coach when they first started baseball. This guy can flat out coach and has taken a team to multiple NJCAA World Series at a program that is only 5 to 6 years old. They are finally getting their stadium next year. I can't wait. I do get playing at a park not in the best part of town is not very attractive to recruits.

I agree, I could see them actually doing away with the program all together.
Bill Dailey would be a great hire and definitely was in the running for it the last time they hired. He likely isn’t interested this time unfortunately. There’s no way this AD hires the best guy.
It’s a sad situation. So much talent so close and they go to Mississippi JUCOS and it’s obvious why. They are much nicer and way better equipped. Just look at Delgado and Nunez, they beat the pants off of BRCC on and off the field

Dudes are going to Nunez and they’re competing, why couldn’t they go to BRCC?

No facilities, lots of coaching turn over, playing at an old rundown park in the hood, BRCC doesn’t really recruit and has a very small budget compared to other Juco teams.

There's no reason why Nunez should have a better baseball program than BRCC. The resources aren't in the same stratosphere. And it's not like Nunez has been built over decades like Delgado.

Yes sir I agree but they do. That tells you all you need to know about BRCC

Nunez just announced their own on campus baseball facility to be built within the next two years. They have invested in baseball on top of recruiting almost exclusively from South LA. A vast majority of those kids are within driving distance. Which brings parent/grandparent support. For a program in it's 9th season, they are already competitive with Delgado. Just shows what could be done with the right coach and buy in at BRCC.

Nunez got a dude in the SEC now, Ira Austin at Kentucky
The secret ingredient: local government support
St Bernard Parish government signed over a huge plot of land to them which used to be where our hospital was and where the new stadium will be built… and St Bernard Parish school board and Chalmette High let them use Suarez stadium for basically nothing…

What is BRCC actually good at?

If the new 5for5 rule goes through, which it looks very likely, it will push more kids to JUCO. Nunez is setting themselves up well to capitalize on that.

Looks like BRCC hired Johnathan Parker from Jones College.
Former Bobcat national champion Jonathan Parker returned to his alma mater as an assistant coach prior to the 2022 season.
Parker is the Bobcats' recruiting coordinator and works with hitters and catchers.
Jones is 141-65 in his four seasons, including an MACCC runner-up finish last year, region runner-up finish in 2024 and a pair of NJCAA Top 10 final rankings.
Parker started his coaching career alongside Wes Thigpen at Mississippi Gulf Coast and spent two seasons with the Bulldogs.
The New Orleans native was a two-year team captain and catcher at Jones during the 2016-17 seasons, helping the Bobcats to a combined 100-13 record, their first NJCAA Division II National Championship (2016) and an MACCC Championship (2017).
Parker was named team MVP as a freshman and was also an all-tournament team nod at the national championship after going 9-for-19 with a pair of RBIs and seven runs scored.
He hit .310 as a freshman with 10 doubles, a home run and 31 RBIs and .384 as a sophomore with 11 doubles, three home runs and 40 RBIs to earn second team all-conference honors.
Parker went on to start 16 games at Louisiana Tech as a junior before ending his career at Southeastern Louisiana. He graduated with a bachelor's in general studies with a minor in business and marketing.
Parker is a graduate of Brother Martin High School, where he was a four-year letterman and two-year team captain on the baseball team. He also earned three letters on the football team, where he was also twice a team captain. Parker earned all-district honors twice and won The Clarion-Herald Linebacker Award in the New Orleans Catholic League.
Athletes run in the Parker family. His sister, Kristen, played collegiate volleyball at LSU, uncle Johnny Morreale played in the Milwaukee Brewers system and grandfather Junior Morreale played in the Boston Red Sox organization.
Parker was married to the former Kaitlin Sellers on Sept. 30, 2023. The couple welcomed their first child, John, on June 3, 2025.

JUCO is pretty serious. Tons of talent. Little ole Crowder College in Neosho, MO always pumps out a few elite kids to Ark, Tenn etc.

What shocks me a little bit is that Nunez has become a legit competitor to Delgado… they’re punching way above their weight
A few people have posted it above, but Nunez is getting great support from Chalmette and St. Bernard Parish government. Here is the article to that: LINK
It doesn't have the schematics, but I saw somewhere on facebook. That stadium is going to be very nice for a CC.
