but yeah i have seen non-soccer friends attempt this and look like the dumb asses they are.

That's funny, because I see the same thing when my soccer friends try to play basketball

33 yard field goals should not be missed at the college level, especially on a team like bama

30-39 yard field goals are missed with a fairly predictable frequency at the NFL level.

yeah, but i tend to disagree. if you're an athlete with no soccer experience, a 33 yarder still isnt gonna be anything that crazy. at worst, you should get lucky and have one go through. if you dont have an athletic background, good luck.

45 is outta the question without serious practice/experience.

a 33yd FG isnt really about leg strength, more about technique.

if you are going to hit from 45, you need both. Extremely difficult for anyone without any training

Have you seen the Reggie Bush video with David Beckham, or any of the Mo vs Random LSU player youtube clips? Bush, Mo Claiborne, Russell Shepard, they're all amazing athletes and look like complete fools trying to kick a ball.

Same with the penalty kick challenge on the Duel where only Wes had any idea what to do and a penalty kick is much easier than a field goal.

My advice for the OP: try a 33 yarder and negotiate a little so you can use a tee.

The sad part about that video is that tee is a kick off tee so he was doing more of a kick off than field goal

That's really pathetic he couldn't kick it more than 35 yards off a tee

a kid I played soccer with hit from 61 yards in a fhsaa game, record at the time unsure if it stands... he ended up kicking off for us a couple seasons in the dubose era, never attempted a college fg if I remember correctly. at 33/34 I'd still take wiz over cade foster

30.. Is doable for the average athletic adult I would assume

45.. You'd have to be a former soccer player or have previous kicking exp..

At the peak of my soccer career, in between travel soccer and high school soccer, i could hit the occasional 35 yarder after lots of practice. shite is definitely hard.

In college I snuck onto Grant Field a few times to kick field goals. I could hit from 35 consistently (former soccer player), but I didn't have the range when I stepped back to 40. Those kicks probably would have been too low for a real FG.

I also hit an extra point with my weak foot.

No way this guy has a chance from 45 yards. As a former all district kicker and lifetime soccer player, I am not sure how many I could make at this moment (haven;t kicked a football in 10 years) but it would definitely be much less than 50 percent. Not sure if my leg is strong enough right now.

Accuracy wasn't my problem. I kick with my leg that I don't jump off in basketball and I think it's just weak. I came up a couple yards short at 45 and couldn't kick with my stronger leg

The leg you don't jump off of in basketball should be your stronger leg.;
