Why not move the Super Bowl to a Saturday Night? It sucks that it is on Sunday and most have to go to work the next day (Not counting now with Covid-19).

I think the ratings would be even higher than normal.

Because Saturday night is a death knell tv slot for ratings

Not as bad as Friday, though

This has been argued for years. I agree, but the NFL does not.

Years ago, but not so much these days with all the streaming content and more and more people are home on the weekends. Plus, it’s the super bowl. The name of the game alone is going to draw people in.

Just not as much as a Sunday night game will

The Super Bowl is on Sunday for the same reason the NFL plays on Sunday. No competition.

If the Super Bowl were on a Saturday there would be no competition. Probably more Super Bowl events at bars and stuff though

To an extent.

Super Bowl would own whatever time slot it occupied.

As far as work the next day, I have heard of proposals for a national holiday for the day after Super Bowl Sunday.

I don’t think there’s anything that is going to cause higher ratings for the super bowl than having 2 exciting teams.
You could put that game on a Wednesday night and it would still get the ratings.

The people who run TV Networks know a lot more than you about what night gets the best ratings

"That [idea] has been around for a long time, people have talked about that," Goodell said of moving the Super Bowl to a Saturday.

"The reason we haven't done it in the past is simply just from an audience standpoint. The audiences on Sunday night are so much larger. Fans want to have the best opportunity to be able to see the game and we want to give that to them, so Sunday night is a better night."

Of course, Goodell's point is also completely valid and it's why the NFL will almost certainly never move the game from its current day. With the game on a Sunday, the Super Bowl has produced nine of the 10 most-watched television shows in history.

With the additional week added to the season, the NFL is considering moving the game to the Sunday before President's Day (federal holiday)

It's Preemie-Donnas...the term comes from people acting like babies, and Donna Martin from 90210, who was rich in the show.
