Have their fans to stop wearing purple and gold on the weekends.

Was willing to engage in the discussion till I got to your last sentence, which is a very good passive aggressive troll job.

There’s nothing for the G5 fans to get excited about. When you have no chance to win a championship, it’s hard to care. Everybody saw UCF go undefeated twice and not make the playoffs. So, what’s the point?

that’s why you have to win the rent a win games, not just show up and collect a million dollars

I agree. I’d rather a playoff system where we play other G5 teams than the Cure or Beef O Brady’s or the Montgomery Bowl. A home playoff game against Tulane or Southern Miss would be awesome.

Stringing together numerous good seasons in a row would help. Great year with 10 wins this season. Now win the CCG and a Bowl then do it again. And again. The fans will come if given a reason to year after year.

Doesn’t help that the entire country’s eyes are on LSU and our QB this season

I can agree with this to an extent. Colorado State hosted a Boise State team in front of 12,000 people. It’s happening across the board with the G5. When the media is telling everyone that the G5 doesn’t matter, why would people go to the game?

String together a couple 10 win seasons and win a couple big games that everyone expects you to lose. Then get the P5 schools to schedule a few home and home series with you. Make the schedule relevant. I have season tickets and they are cheap. Just gotta create more interest. If the App State game been on Saturday instead of mid week, the stadium would have been packed. Who gets excited for Texas State??

Myth. LSU isn’t Tulane.

Hey genius, you think there may be some savings living and eating at home..maybe no car?

Use your head.

And on top of that LSU tuition is higher

LSU offered me a scholarship, but UL gave me a free ride then some, plus I could bicycle there from home. It was a no brainer. Love both schools either way. Tulane isn't for everyone if you have the grades AND the money

Yeah I think they're a vocal minority of assholes. Most are probably older UL people that remember the naming controversy rather than students. Some of them pulled for Texas too during the Mack Brown golden years it was so silly

Hey Einstein (this is cool) do you think there may be some Baton Rouge students going to LSU for the same reason? How many of you had to “settle” for LSU? I’d guess that not many would say that.

Every public university draws from their local population.

The truth is buried in the culture. Casual Cajun fans are predominantly Trump supporters. Mark Hudspeth absolutely trashed those Cajun fans openly calling essentially the entire fan base hypocrites and idiots.

In general, Cajun culture is very welcoming, but cross any real Cajun and you will find that you’re treatment isn’t really poor and sometimes downright nasty. That’s what you are seeing play out in Lafayette. It doesn’t matter that Hudspeth was fired, it was the athletic department who backed the players and Hudspeth and alienated the already small fan base. Now they are reaping what they sow.

Napier and his staff is the best staff that will ever head the Cajun program and are suffering for the sins of the previous staff. It would take a few more years of this type of success to build a new fan base. The only problem is we will be lucky to retain Napier for another season.

If all the stars lined up, the best we could do as a program is average close to 30k a game if we had sustained success and in an American type regional conference. Associated with programs like Houston, Tulane, La Tech, USM or other relatively close programs that our fans are interested in playing.

You would love for that to happen. Win 10 games and drop down. SMH

Some of you are really insecure. Hell we could be in the AAC and win 10 games and still not be a threat to the mighty LSU tigers. But you’d swear we are like Bama with the amount of hate spewed by some posters in this board.
