How did anyone at Ohio state think Dwayne fricking Haskins was ever better than Joe burrow?

If I was a buckeye fan I’d be pissed Joe was the one they let transfer

Idk but there is a hysterical OhIo guy in one of these threads whining about how bad Cleveland sucks so they all seem like short-sighted, fragile little imps

No Haskins was solid in college but how could you watch him side by side to burrow in practice and not see burrow was the better talent?

IIRC, Burrow got injured, so Haskins passed him up

Burrow was a late bloomer. Guy wasn’t exactly great at LSU during his junior season until the bowl game against Central Florida.

Haskins 2018 stats

70% completion 4,831 yards 50TD 8INT

Not like they were hurting for a QB after Burrow transferred

If you're a gamecock and your name isn't Dawn Staley then you don't know dick about what a champion looks like

Haskins last year he set all kinds of OSU and Big Ten passing records. Dude was a good college QB. Apparently wildly immature though.

Haskins was better than Burrow in 2018. It wasnt really close

Haskins: 70% completion, 4831 yards, 9.1 YPA, 50 tds, 8 ints.

Burrow: 58% completion, 2894 yards, 7.6 YPA, 16 tds, 5 ints

I'd say Ohio State got a pretty good end of the deal. If they rolled with Burrow, they almost certainly don't get 2 years of Fields

Because some players don't blossom until later. I wasn't overly impressed with Burrow's play in 2018 but he obviously developed into an excellent QB during the offseason.

His dad being a low rent Lavar Ball couldn't have helped.

I just thought that since a Heisman winner and National Champion was mentioned in the thread title then yall might not have much to contribute here

Come on man, you don’t have to discredit his valid opinion because of which team he supports.

He quietly turned it on late in the year, which was somewhat to be expected given how late he'd gotten there and the inexperience of the offense as a whole.

2018 was a weird year in that LSU had pretty much no returning skill guys that had put up any stats. Like none.

Then we didn't even get Burrow until shortly before the season, he was still at tOSU in spring.

Was he?

One was playing under an Urban Meyer and Ryan Day offense

One was playing under Coach O and Ensminger of which he has 1 month to learn

Seems less likely Burrow improved 100,236% in 6 months to me
